Putting a 16,000btu propane range in home. Want to have tanks I can handle. Will this work with two 40pound bottles?

Yes it can. Open both bottles and it will pull from one until empty and then switch to the other one when needed. I can run my stove, camper heater and hot water heater at the same time from my 2 20lb bottles.

I bought this to use with a heater buddy in a small cabin. While trying to find a fitting or connecting hose I was told the two are not compatible.

I don’t know about the heater buddy connection but the unit should hook to tanks just fine

Will this work for a 55000 btu propane wall furnace?

Yes But it’s made with two outlets. You will have to plug one as needed. Or by a single regulator.

Is this unit compatible with Gaspro Type 1 gauge?

If the gauge is designed for propane then yes.
