This stuff is GREAT! Just a tiny little scoop that holds 1,000mg (1 gram) of Vitamin C. I put 4 level scoops of it in our glasses of iced tea, it gives a lemony flavor. Warning though, it's really sour, so for my tea I add sugar to taste to counter it, my husband likes it without the extra sugar. My uncle, a doctor, has taken 10,000+mg (10+ grams) of Vitamin C a day for years. It's a water soluble vitamin, so any extra C is eliminated through your urine, which is very good for your kidneys. Vitamin C is touted by experts as a miracle vitamin that can help fix all sorts of physical problems, but the tablets can be a pain. If you're a Vitamin C nut like I have become (since having serious kidney problems), drinking it in your drinks (including not just tea but any drink you choose) is a pleasant alternative to taking those bulky tablets or chewing the lozenges multiple times a day. I highly recommend this powdered version and am really happy I found it! This is my 2nd order, and I plan to keep on ordering it, I never want to run out. LOL Some have asked if this is L-ascorbic acid, so I hunted down the manufacturer's site, this is what they say: Nutricost Vitamin C - Nutricost.com https://www.nutricost.com/products/75/vitamin-c "Vitamin C, or L-ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble essential vitamin. It is a very popular dietary supplement due to its antioxidant properties, safety, and low price." From a Google search I have found that Nutricost is listed as a reliable producer of high-quality supplements with an excellent reputation. No, Nutricost didn't pay me for this review or give me any product for a discount or free, I just LOVE the stuff, so had to emote. <grin>

I take a lot of supplements. As such, getting bulk powder form is about 2-5 times less expensive than buying in pill form. I've been using Nutricost products for well over a year now. This product comprises part of my morning concoction of about 10 supplements. The only ingredient listed is pure vitamin C. I'm happy with this product and intend to order again. This may seem like an obscene amount of Vitamin C. and it kind of is, but I use it like crazy so to find this much in powder is a beautiful thing. Beats the pants off of crushing a zillion tablets or opening a zillion gel caps. I am a bariatric patient, so a lot of times I can't just pop a pill because my stomach can't break it down properly. i would get gummies, but I don't just use this as a supplement. First and foremost, I use this to help my body to absorb the Iron supplements I take daily for my chronic anemia. Just dissolve some in water, apple sauce, etc and BAM! I'll also mix in my probiotic and fiber when the mood strikes. :) I will also take this when the seasons change, when I know I will be traveling or in highly populated areas to help build my immune system in hopes I won't get sick or if I do, it won't hit me as hard as it could have. Secondly, and less traditionally, I use Vitamin C to help quickly, safely and gently lift fantasy colors from my hair when I'm ready for a change so I don't have to damage my hair with bleach. Sounds crazy right? I did too, but it really works for me. I just mix about a teaspoon or two into a palm full of cheap clarifying shampoo, apply to damp hair, cover with a disposable grocery bag or shower cap, (cling film works in a pinch too as holding in the heat and moisture helps lift the color.) For best and quickest results, I let it sit as long as I can, (as long as a few hours for stubborn color,) then I wash it out with a cheap 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, apply a conditioning treatment and allow that to sit, covered, on my hair as long as possible before shampooing and conditioning as usual. That seems like a lot of tedious steps, and you can of course tailor it to your schedule and preferences if you decide to try it, but I find the Vitamin C dries out my hair so I like to gently wash it out, hence using a cheap 2-in-1 and pack as much moisture back into it as possible. It has done wonders and saved me damage and big bucks at the salon. I have found the quality of this brand just as good as the brands I've used from specialty and whole foods markets. It is much cheaper to purchase it this way, but if you find that you prefer to take it in capsule form, then you can purchase empty gelatin caps and fill them yourself, just know it's not easy to dose accurately without a sensitive scale and filling the caps can be really messy. :) That is how I do it for my husband though when I force him to take it.
