My absolute favorite 'small' light from Makita!
These lights are crazy small and compact on a 2.0ah battery, and run forever! they're surprisingly bright for their size as well! It is NOT a replacement to large jobsite flood lights, I myself happen to own almost every light Makita has ever made and they all have their place, so If you buy this expecting to light up your entire jobsite and then complain that it's not bright, you should probably re-assess yourself! These are absolutely perfect for camping and all sorts of other adventures because it fits in any pocket on me, even a shirt pocket (seriously you should buy one for your wife to keep in her purse!) Also handy for simple emergency prep, such as keeping one in the glovebox of the truck, bringing it on a hike, having them for power outages, I could go on and on because the handy size and efficient run time is awesome! I ended up purchasing several more.

Great tool for these batteries
What a great product for the small 12 volt CXT battery by Makita. I took all pictures in my home. I noticed that in complete darkness in interior spaces it gives great lighting as the light can bounce around an illuminate more. Where as in outdoors some of the light is lost because it has nothing to bounce back from as is with all lights, so it is spread out more and obviously less illumination. But still, out doors in complete darkness it is a lot better than a cell phone light. My guess is this can be around the house useful in an emergency or any typical use if need be.But I have a feeling that it can also be in your toolbag for the average tradesman.Although from my experience most professional tradesman are using the bigger 18v LXT batteries for their tools so I doubt this will be a choice for them.I bought this because I am a painter and sometimes need a light to look for small imperfections on wall surfaces .And this light does the trick exceptionally. It so happens that I have two batteries from a makita drill set that I do use on occasion for the lighter type drill work around home and job site. My only drill set to be exact. So what better way than to get more use out of my batteries. The build feels great and quality is exactly the same is material used on drills. Hard plastic with the soft feeling black rubber for grip. The only button, the power button feels snug with a firm press it turn on and off. There is also a small cut out so you can loop a lanyard or something you can tie on for hanging or storing away. Only thing can’t quite comment on is battery life. I only have the smallest 1.5ah battery but according to instructions it’s plenty of life for me. Plus I have two batteries so not worried about that at all.Definitely not a replacement for a wired work light or battery powered light like the ones using bigger batteries. It’s a great light for tradesman who wants something lighter than bigger battery lights out there to carry in their belt. But as mentioned earlier I doubt that the average tradesman will be carrying the 12v batteries. But if you happen to be a professional with some of these batteries around and don’t need 1000 lumen of light this is something to consider .

Buy this!
Small but bright and worth it. Very useful. I work in construction and it's a cheap, reliable, useful alternative to using the flashlight on your phone lol

simple way to keep track of my extra battery
Like the light. May as well get some use out of my extra 12v batteries. Comes in handy in the shop and I can always steal the battery if I need it for a different tool. Would have been 5 stars if they had added any kind of hook so you could hang this thing.

Good inexpensive small light
This light is bright enough for most service work in dark areas. About what a mag light puts out. Very compact and lasts for about 6-7 hours on a 3MAH 12CXT battery. I’d recommend this for sure

Excellent little job light.
I needed a small light when working inside of cabinets and I have several 12v Makita batteries. This thing doesn’t take up much space and in a tight dark area throws a lot of light.
