Sturdy, cheap, but unnecessarily complicated instructions
The very first words in the instruction manual are "Thank you for purchase this mount." Let's be honest, you want to buy this because it's cheap and functional, not because it's fancy. At $30, this is far cheaper than other alternatives, and it gets the job done. Pros: Cheap, strong, and it really is universal. I've read that it doesn't fit a few types of projectors, but I did not have any problems with mine. It comes with several extra screws of various sizes to fit into your projector, and honestly you could just as easily buy new screws that fit and still come out ahead. Due to the angle of my studs, I had to mount it sideways, and it still gave me enough options to properly angle it to match the screen. And this mount is definitely sturdy. You may be skeptical that a mount this cheap could be strong, but I have no fear that my projector will fall. Ever. You could use this thing for pull-ups if you wanted. You can also skip using the extendo-rod if you have a short ceiling, or else use the 1-2ft optional rod to meet your needs. Cons: Terribly written instructions. You kind of have to wing it a bit, but it's still worth dealing with the assembly. Some pieces are glossed over, some are needlessly complicated, and the order of construction is a bit wonky. There are a million washers that all look the same, but you'll figure out their system soon enough. The screws it comes with are of very poor quality, and I ended up stripping both. So either this projector will be on my ceiling forever, or I'll have to replace the screws (which is still cheaper than going to another mount). All in all, I am very happy with this purchase. I would rather put in a little work and save $50-100 than go with another mount. I don't expect this thing will ever break, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to mount their projector.

Great product for a great price
I don't have any complaints about this product. It came well packaged, it looks great. It's a matt-ish black matching my theater ceiling perfectly. As people have said it seems like it might be easy to scratch but in mounting it and getting it on the ceiling i didn't scratch it and i won't be touching it ever again so no problem there. The washers are even a composite material so you don't scratch the black metal. The construction seems great so far, my projector is only 8lbs and this feels like it would hold much more than that so i don't see it being a problem. The arms that it comes with and the multitude of positions this thing can be in i can't imagine it not working with any ( normal sized) projector. Mine was an Optoma HD33 and it worked like a charm. I did have to take out the smaller arm and replace it with an included longer arm for the back left screw but no big deal there. It comes shipped with short arms for things that are the length of the arm and shorter and long arms for things the length of the arm and longer. There were two short ones and two long ones in out of the box so i just replaced one of them with the longer one and it worked perfectly. I was even able to center the bracket even though the mounting holes are decidedly bunched on the left side of the projector, not sure if it's because of access to the bulb or what, but because of the sliding arms i was able to center the mounting bracket in, as best as i could tell, the center of gravity. I would highly recommend this bracket for a really affordable but not cheaply made bracket. The addition of the extension arm is a great feature even though because my ceilings are only 8ft high i won't be using it. It really shows the company is trying to make it truly universal. Most of the time you get what you pay for when you find a product for MUCH cheaper than most other but you don't feel like you've been cheated with this product at all. I was going to give 4 stars just because i wasn't completely blown away but if a product does everything that it says, works perfectly, and i have no complaints about it I think 5 stars is warranted. UPDATE: So I've been using the product a little while now and i have a small complaint. Because of the flexibility and the multiple axises that you can adjust the mount it makes it a little bit unsteady when adjusting it. It took me a while to get it where i wanted it because i would get it where i wanted it, then try to tighten the screws and the screws turning would move the projector or putting my hand on it to tighten would move another screw. I ended up getting them all tight enough to hold, but just loose enough for me to move it and i would press in the direction i needed it to go and let go and see how close it was and keep adjusting that way, as opposed to most mounts I've had where i got someone to hold the projector in place and i tighten all the screws down. It just wasn't working for me doing that. As i was going about adjusting this thing i came across a good idea to have a mount that has knobs to adjust like a telescope... i'm sure someone out there has one like that. That would make for a perfect mount.

Great mount for the price.
This a nice mount. I am using it with my Optoma HD141X which has 3 mounting holes. As seen in the product photo, there are 4 arms but removing one arm was quite easy. As other reviewers have noted, it is a universal mount so you have to figure out the best way to arrange the legs. For my particular projector, I had to reverse one of the arms so it could fit right. (Not being mechanically minded, I was very proud of myself that I figured that out and then I read that many other people have done that, too. Proud, yes - original, no.). In the end, it is obvious that the mount is not made for my projector. But, it works and when the lights go down, no one really notices. The instructions did show how to configure the base if you are only using 3 arms instead of 4. However, the base did not match up with what the instructions showed. It wasn't a big deal as I could swivel the arms around as I needed. But I thought I would mention it in case someone gets confused like I did. While all the screws and hardware are included, the screws to go into the projector itself were not long enough. So, I did have to make a trip down to the local hardware store to pick up the 3 screws that I needed to attach the arms to the projector itself. While not a terribly big deal, I did knock off 1 star. Once mounted into the ceiling, it is a solid installation. I am quite happy with it. It doesn't look as nice as it could if it were a mount made specifically for the projector itself, but for the price (very good!) and the solidness of the installation, I would buy it again.
