Like some of the other viewers said, "this is a piece of junk" and do not purchase it. I was attracted to this item over the more expensive Mopar and BOLT locks due to the low price and the biggest reason was the lack of need to use rivets and have to order a rivet device. I liked the idea that in the event I wanted to adjust or remove the device, it would only require a screw driver. When I received the item the box it came in looked used and battered, a bad omen, indicating that his item might have been used and not new. Also I could hear the sound of loose metal parts when moving the box. My worst fears were realized when I opened the box and found the metal T brace separated from the locking mechanism, the keys and portions of the lock floating freely at the bottom of the box (the first user had clearly become frustrated and dissembled the end screw of the lock and washer). Another sign that things were not right...the plastic bag that usually contains the screws and keys was already torn open and just sitting in the box. Trying to be a good AMAZONER and not return the item, I fished for the parts, tried to reassemble the lock and see if the device could be made serviceable. The lock mechanism still did not work and the key was stiff and difficult to insert and remove. Also the fitting of this lock is not precise as the manufacturer warns you that adjustments may be needed after installing. Conclusion: This was a return item that had been tampered with and got reshelved without inspection and sent out to me. I returned the item with a note to not send this item to anyone else except the supplier. I got the BOLT lock for Jeep Wrangler and it installed without problems, since it was engineered for the Jeep predrilled holes. All parts were sealed in the box and new. Note: In all fairness to Rugged Ridge, that makes good products otherwise, this lock may work as some of the other reviewers have stated. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to try it.
