price is high. so far I have dropped it only a couple of times and as far as I know the lead has not broken. click action if very good. the holder stays where you put it so its easy to return to the holder.

I like the quality and the ease of use. When you are marking lumber, the pencil is reliable. The lead is easy to see. The lead is durable. The pencil seats well in the holder. I am not so impressed with the sandpaper sharpener. I would prefer a grate. The pencil is for serious carpentry.

I'm always looking for better and easier ways to mark materials and cuts while I'm doing woodworking projects. Once I came across the Pica markers and mechanical pencils, I've not looked at any other markers or pencils. These are by far the best pencils I've come across - and I've used lots. This one marks like a traditional carpenter's pencil, but in a mechanical housing. The little sharpening board on the side is a nice touch. These cost a bit more, but are worth every penny.
