I think it comes in meter lengths that clip together. You can also twist it to double back on itself and my husband seemed to think you could cut it .

You don't have to use the remote. You can use the socket switch instead if you want. I would highly recommend these lights (if they're still available). Hope this helps.

If using these in 2 parallel lines, what is the max distance between the lines please? I want to use on 2 shelves about 35 cm apart. Thanks

I'm not sure I'm clear on what you mean. There is a generous amount of cable, and I think there should be enough If you are lighting 2 shelves 35cm apart. They do supply extender cables to go around corners etc, you could always use these if you need more cable length between the 2 lines. It's very easy to connect. Hope this helps.
