Tulip 31665 One Step Kit: Moody Blue Tie Dye

Used this in my first grade classroom and the colors were perfect! Last year I used too many colors, but the 3 color set is the way to go! Easy to use!

Super easy and simple kit. Comes with the gloves, rubber bands, a "how to" guide, and three colors. This is our finished product. The colors are really vibrant and beautiful! Will definitely be purchasing again.

I have never tie dyed anything. But this was pretty simple. I would suggest using about half the dye in each bottle to start because it ended up much darker than the package pics. Plus you could do it at another time. I actually liked the colors that came out once I used a good bit of a bottle and watered it down more. No need to leave it for many hours to get darker colors if you use it as directed to start.

I hadn't tie-dyed anything since about 1975, so this was a big change. Techniques for these dyes are totally different from what we used to do. I watched several instructional videos on YouTube and bought this. I dyed a couple of T-shirts as practice, and then did the button-front shirt I really wanted. They all came out well! There was enough dye for those three shirts (size large). The dye has not faded substantially in 3 washes. I did not see any bleeding dye picked up by any other clothes in the wash. Not cheap, but it works.

Easy to use, gloves can be better.

I love these kits. Got two of these and a couple other color combinations. Easy to use and all materials there, minus the shirts! Will use again.

Kit is a lot smaller than it looks

My girls were able to make six tie dye shirts and two bags. Everything has turned out great. The colors are beautiful. It was a fun summer activity.

Worked perfectly and easy to use

Had a fantastic day making tie dye shirts with my niece. It was a hit! Even better that they turned out even better than we expected! Beats the old school dyes we used when I was little. Prep and clean up was so much easier with this kit!! Had I known there was enough dye to make at least two shirts each, I would have bought more shirts to begin with!

This was super easy! I don't know why I never tried tie dying before. My only suggestion would be to limit the number of folds for thicker fabric, as I did have one shirt turn out only with tie dye at the bottom and none at the top, but it still looked cool. Also, if you plan on dying more than 3 items, you will need extra rubber bands. The rubber bands supplied are quite thin, and I found I got better results using thicker standard rubber bands. My other suggestion would also be to use different rubber gloves, as my finger tips did get stained slightly. However, after 2 showers it's virtually all gone. This kit says it will dye up to 6 shirts, I managed to get 5 items done - a vest, 2 t-shirts, a long sleeved t-shirt, and a thin cardigan. Not included in the directions, but something I remembered from camp is to put them in the washing machine, add white vinegar and run a rinse cycle in cold water before washing them. This will help to set the dye. Also just a note that the colour on the end is NOT purple, it's a navy blue. I was a little disappointed as I had wanted purple, but I was ok with blue.
