Incredible Features, Looks Really Good and Unbelievable Value for Money.
I can give this review on the basis of a lot of experience I have with smart watches. I have a Garmin Fenix 6 Pro, which is usually my go to sports/exercise watch. My Garmin is a fantastic watch, although very expensive. However I felt that the features I get from it, required me to pay the high price tag. That was until I found this E3 Smartwatch from Mobvoi! In brief, the Mobvoi Ticwatch E3 is a fantastic all rounder at a really good price. Here are the main reasons I would highly recommend it; The price: This has to be the top reason - the number of features you get with this watch far exceeds the cost when compared to other smart watches. I really was surprised that you can get a watch that pretty much does it all, for such an amazing price. I bought it for £175 and I've even seen it cheaper on a Deal Price. I simply cannot find a smart watch on Amazon that is better value for money when considering the features. The looks: I mainly bought this watch as a day-to-day work horse. I love my Garmin, but that is for sports and I wanted another watch that was just looked good. The photos on Amazon don't do the watch justice. It looks really good on the wrist. It is light, so nice to wear all day long. You can change the strap too very easily. The screen is so good, even when it's in battery saver mode, so on the wrist it just always looks good! The battery life: A huge selling point of this watch is the very good battery life. My biggest issue with smart watches is that I hate it when the battery doesn't last. This was a big reason I chose this watch and it didn't disappoint. If you use the battery saver, you can even get upto 3 days, if you go for essential mode it will last I think weeks! Let's just say, I've never had it run out on essential mode. It's just not something you need to worry about on this watch. The always on: I also like my smart watches to be on, even when I'm not looking at them. I don't really like having to always raise my wrist or touch the screen to turn a watch on, sometimes I just want to glance over at it on my wrist and see the time. I also like it to look like a real watch to other people, not just a black screen. With the Ticwatch, the battery is so incredibly good because of their screen technology, I can easily have the always on display without worrying about battery. You can use it for any sport: I primarily choose a smart watch for sports. As I said, I have a Garmin for this, so didn't buy this watch for that purpose, but more as a general watch day to day. What surprised me was how good this watch is for sport. It has an app for pretty much anything and tracks it very well. I love the fact that it's waterproof and able to track my swimming. Make Payments: I love being able to leave my wallet at home and just use my watch. It syncs easily to your Google account and you can pay for things contactless, just like a card. It's easy to set up, and easy to use. Health features: I love the continuous heart rate monitoring and stress management. It's constantly checking you and again, you don't have to worry about battery. It's very useful to know this data to see how healthy you are and what you can do about it. Fast & easy to use: The watch is responsive and fast. The screen is clear and bright. Everything else: There's not really anything not to like about this watch. It's amazing what you get for your money. You can install any apps you want from Google Wear, including new watch faces. There's even apps testing your hearing, washing your hands reminders, and you can take calls through your phone, on the watch. It does pretty much everything and looks good too. I recommend this watch very highly. It is an amazing all-rounder. It does it all, with a good battery and looks great too. The price for this quality of watch is superb.

Hands down, the worst Tech purchase I've ever made. DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE! Returning.
Written by someone who has conducted HOURS AND HOURS of research... UPDATE 22/3/2022: I am writing a review for a second watch that I received to replace the original, faulty one. After weeks of trying to get by with watch no.1, it took over with a mind of it's own: switching on and off in the middle of the night, screens switching when I was not touching it etc. to a point where I was concerned about security. Amazon were great and processed the return and replacement. Tick. Watch no.2: I always had my suspicions re: the step tracking and today my wife and I carried out a test. She wore her Fitbit Charge 4 AND my Ticwatch E3 to do exactly the same exercise. The results were unbelievable. At best, my Ticwatch was within 100 steps of the Fitbit. I'd take that, give and take a small %age. However, throughout the day, with little or NO movement, by Ticwatch E3 would be anything between 25% and 33% out. Now, one could argue it is the Fitbit charge that is odd. Why would the Ticwatch E3 by massively over stating my steps? Who knows. But I carried out an experiment on my own this evening whilst walking to my bathroom and emptying the dishwasher. Approx 100-150 steps. Call it 200 to be overly optimistic. My Ticwatch E3 stat: 1,151 steps. Significantly over calling it. Bought a Galaxy Watch4 after returning this....night and day! Original review: Overall, I think the product is average... Looks really smart, great interface and really responsive. Strava tracking is fantastic as is the ability to go phone free for runs. Disappointed in the battery life. For something with such great functionality, I'd have expected better battery life considerations. Also, I find that every day, at least once, it freezes. Something that is really frustrating that has been logged by myself and hundreds of Wear OS users is the constant ask to disconnect and re-pair your phone. It is on my notifications 90% of the day (see pic that was taken as I write this review). The first time I actioned the request, it factory reset my watch and it took me all evening to reset. Very frustrating. Now I just leave it and have to ignore the notification. There appears to be no fix by Google, so be aware. There are too many apps doing the same thing though so really hard to simplify and consolidate what you do with one app/ one set of apps. E.g. the watch has several tic apps like tic sleep, tic health, tic exercise etc. All of which do the same as Google and it is annoying that you have to choose which to use and leave one set of apps redundant. Surely it could be simpler to have just Google fit or tic. Update 8/3/2022: Watch constantly doesn't connect to show location. Everyday for the last 8 days my watch restarts randomly: in the day, on runs, in the middle of the night. I no longer wear it in bed. Looking at returning. Very disappointed.

Great watch. Setup process is nightmarish but with happy ending.
This is the best budget watch running wearos. The Snapdragon processor does mean it snappy and not laggy. Battery is good for full day at least, under stress. However be warned, the setup process was riddled with issues after issues. Red band of death, connectivity issues. You write a novel on the steps taken to get it to work. But once you do. Finally fully updated running everything you can throw it, it's a real diamond. But you will need to be brave and strong to try. Four stars only because of the final result. Would have been five for not the atrocious setup process.

To watch, worth more than every penny
So, here is my honest review after using this for a week and a half. I purchased this as I hadn't used a smart watch for years, and just wanted a cheap easy to use replacement. To begin, this wasn't the case, however, after a day of teething trouble, it has been genuinely a star performer. So, the bad first, set up. Google wear doesn't exist anymore, so you have to download an APK to let yourself install it onto a phone. This is purely to let you update it. Once you have updated it, you use the Mobvoi health app, which does a fine job! The other bad part, it's not the easiest set-up. Once you get the first app running, you update the watch. It goes all weird, with a red, black, white, and blue static looking screen. At this point, you press the bottom button ONCE. Then the top button ONCE. That's it. It finishes an install, and it's updated. From there, it installs onto the Mobvoi app all fine, and it has no issues. Battery life is about 3 days, and it charges up in a few hours. For me, that works okay in my day. The charging wire is a little annoying rather than wireless, but I've used worse. Health monitoring, fine. Oxygen and pulse, the strap needs to be TIGHT, but my old Samsung watch had the same issue. Sleep monitoring, discountinf the first night where I appeared to be dead and nothing recorded, it's been accurate. I will say, for not much over 20 quid, you cannot go wrong.

Complete waste of time
I was looking forward to trying a good spec smart watch since my previous ones had been underwhelming. I had just brought a new Pixel 7 so it was the perfect oppurtunity to get a watch to go with it. My initial reaction was that is was a bulky watch with a pretty naff strap. Now, I have worn protrek watches for many years while rock climbing and they are bulky watches and this is close to the same size as they are. Wear OS install went fine and the watch easily connected to my phone. It's at that point that things started to go down hill. Trying to set up google pay put the watch in a loop of asking for which account on my phone I wanted to use, in the end I gave up on that idea and decided to focus on the apps that were on the phone. Now, I'm not a fan of having to set up more apps and make an account with mobvoi just to get the watch to function correctly. There is no reason why all the features can't work without it if they tried. Not that it mattered since everything I tried was massively inaccurate. Heart rate, step count, you name it. So, I gave up on that and put it on charge. The next day I put it on at 8am to go out as normal. Nothing is running on the watch, constant monitoring of heart rate is off. Didn't look at it until midday and it was already 0% battery. Not impressive at all. I put it back on charge over night and when I checked it in the morning it was dead, blank screen, and won't charge at all. Now I thought that the bad reviews were a small sample but I can see why it has so many complaints about battery life.

Ok as a starter watch
Im new to smart watches; this being my first purchase. I just wanted one as an every day watch that has some trackers on for exercise (I ride a bike) and its a bit niche but i wanted something I can store basic images on-my job is a bit full on and being able to quickly refer to a photo rather than carrying a heap of papers around or having to get my phone out is handy. Here is what I have discovered: Pros: 1. Price. I had a look at other offerings and it appears that many offer the same features but for more money. Depends on what you are after but it uses the same software as some more expensive watches. You can download apps on it too 2. Display. The display is good; I can see it fine and images I have sent to the phone and watch faces etc all look fine to me. Some reviews mention that the display isnt as fancy as premium watches but I guess you get what you pay for. I cant say I have a problem with this one. 3. Easy enough to use. Im not very technical but have had no problems setting up and using the watch. On day two the watch required a software update and then wouldn't reconnect with my phone; after much annoyance and repeating the instructions to reconnect, I just did a factory reset one the watch and reinstalled the apps on my phone which worked. The touch screen is responsive and typing on the watch when needed isnt too difficult. 4. It appears that the strap is a usual watch type strap so you could replace the strap easily enough. I havent done that myself but it looks like its an option if you are so inclined. Cons: 1. Battery. The battery does not last long. Having the step counter and heart rate sensor on as well as having the watch provide notifications by the evening the battery is at around 20%. With the sensors turn off it might be around 35%. I dont use it much through the day really and i have the battery saver watch face on to check the time, Ive also changed a few settings to increase battery life-its not going to last 24hours and if it does im guessing it wont be much more which will be an issue unless you have your charger at all times. Ive read that some watches can go much longer without charge and standard use. 2. Charging. I hate the charger! The charger is a pad that attaches to the back of the watch using tiny magnets. Its too easy to disconnect the cable with the most gentle of knocks which means unless its out of the way or you have an open surface for the watch to sit; its very likely you will discover the watch hasnt been charging when you plan to use it. Ive looked around for charging docks/frames but ive only found off brand items with mixed reviews. Charging time isnt too bad however, providing it stays connected! 3. Screen size The watch face is quite large, however for some reason there is a thick black outline around the outside of the glass-why? Its a waste of space. If like me you are just wanting a basic smart watch, I suppose you could do a lot worse than this Ticwatch. It seems to be a good introductory smartwatch for those wanting to give one a go before splurging on a more expensive one.

Excellent Smartwatch from the TicWatch range
I purchased the TicWatch E3 Smartwatch for my 13 year old son as a replacement for his older semi-smart watch. Much of this review is from him, with some of my opinions thrown in as well! I myself have a TicWatch 3 Pro Ultra GPS, so will make some comparisons to that model. Packaging His word was “Slick” Outwardly, the packaging of the watch was very similar to the previous versions, a high-quality box containing the watch, instructions, and charger, all packaged with care to ensure a flawless product on delivery. Watch Design Overall, we both think the watch looks very good. It has a metallic feeling casing, and flush glass with a small outer bezel. The watch feels sturdy, yet at the same time quite lightweight for its size. The watch is quite thick, but not excessively so. Tactile, not fiddly, can’t accidentally press them The side buttons both feel robust and are unobtrusive even when bending the wrist (if you wear it on your left wrist like I do, some watch buttons can get pressed when bending the wrist). The buttons are not fiddly or loose, and you can’t accidentally press them with glancing blows. Strap The supplied 20mm soft silicone strap feels pleasant and has a quick-release system. However, he instantly swapped it out for his current 20mm strap in his favourite colour – orange! Display We both agree that the 1.3” LCD display looks good, with sharp and vibrant colours and dark blacks. There are variable brightness settings, and my son says “The brightest of the brightness is BRIGHT!”. He has it on medium brightness usually, it still pops and is very clear. There is also an essential mode to greatly increase battery life, this will limit functionality to more basic features but greatly extends the time between charges. There are many watch faces included as standard, with the ability to download more from the Play Store or Mobvoi app. Apps Most of the apps are fairly standard from a Google Watch OS standpoint. All the regulars are there like Google Fit, Phone, Memo, Calc, Alarm, Stopwatch/Timer, Weather etc. With the benefit of access to the Google Play store to download thousands of other apps. His most used third-party apps such as Strava and some games all worked flawlessly. In terms of the Tic built in apps: He is using TicSleep monitoring sleep, as the watch is comfortable enough to wear to bed TicZen and TicBreath can help de-stress TicHearing can be used to measure the volume of an area, which he loves to use for fun. TicPulse is used to monitor heart rate, excellent for exercise and runs, but he does not have it set to 24/7 monitoring in order to conserver some battery. Accuracy seems consistent with the Pro 3 and Pro 2020 models. TicOxygen measures blood oxygen levels. TicExercise has all the modes you would expect from an exercise tracking app – Run, Walk, Treadmill, Cycling, Freestyle, and many more including Swimming due to the IP68 water resistant rating. It can also upload to Strava, which is his exercise hub of choice. A new addition to the Tic apps is Hearth Health, which can 24/7 monitor your heart activity to detect unusual activity. All of this gets pulled into the TicHealth app which gives a nice overview of all the above functions. Touchscreen and Hardware Hi words were “Smooth, Instant, Accessible” The screen is responsive to touch, I would say somehow more responsive than the previous models, including the more expensive Pro 3 Ultra! The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100 platform, which is a powerful applications processor and ultra-low power co-processor, performs admirably and combined with the 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM it never seems to slow down or show any signs of lagging. The usual connectivity that you’d expect such as Bluetooth 5 and 802.11b/g/n Wireless, with he addition of NFC, speaker, mic, and a whole host of GNSS technology (GPS+Beidou+Glonass) Battery Life With the 380mAh battery, he gets around 3 days before needing to recharge when using the sleep monitoring. He thinks without the sleep monitoring, it would get more like 5 days. But if you weren’t wearing it to bed you’d probably charge it nightly anyway! Essential mode would extend this even further, if you wanted to remove some of the smart features. UI One word – “Smooth” He’s a pretty savvy tech user already, but finds the UI user friendly, and can navigate around easily. All touches are recognised even when using very gentle touches, and no delays between presses and apps opening. Charging The watch includes a discreet magnetic charging clip. He did initially find it slightly difficult to line up, but no problem after I showed him the correct orientation. In a slightly different orientation to the Pro models, the charger clip cable runs the same direction as the strap, rather than from the side. The charging from totally flat to 100% full can be done in a few hours, so popping it on the charger while in the shower or something can keep it topped up almost indefinitely (though you can wear it in the shower with its IP68 water rating!) Conclusion Best watch he’s had! It’s a superb and very comfortable smartwatch that really shines in the TicWatch line-up, and the general smartwatch line-up for that matter!

E3 for Me ... Why spend a fortune when this quite literally does all you need!
Ok.... So.... Lets start from the top. The bad reviews are essentially from people that cant problem solve! This watch is a steal for this price point (I got it at 28quid!!!). It does everything as its paired to your google acc. Its own fitness suite is more than adequate and all the usual monitoring devices work a treat! You can also use Strava etc and a little bit of googling and you can find apps that will work for you. The NFC pay is a doddle. I answered a call on the phone and it worked well... GPS bang on. Step count bang on. Heart rate, screen clarity, Fitness tracking good! Colur quality and styling nice a simple TBF the OS3 update simplifies the usabilty and the chunky buttons are nice and easy! On and offing is a little annying as its a bit slow to get it to give it lol... But avoid accidental offing lol Ok.. heres the important point. Yes the OS3 update did cause the screen to crash and it gets stuck on it SO you hold both buttons down to do a hard reset/ reboot. You then might have to press the bottom button a few times (3 to be exact lol) to encourage another soft boot to the new OS. The you re-pair and log into you google acc again. Make sure you only have the new ticwatch fitness app on your phone, unisntall the wear os and the old mobvoi app at this point and it will pair and finish update THATS IT! Its not hard and its worth it. I run a xiaomi phone and also have a xiaomi watch, but was going to buy the ticwatch... then saw this and thought I can happily use and abuse and not worry. Battery life is good, screen size more than adequate. Would give it 5 but wouldve liked the old screens available after update but def not a deal breaker Get stuck, google it as theres loads of how toos ABSOLUTE BARGAIN!
