from computer dp port TO monitor dvi port - works well
works well. connects new computer dp port TO very old monitor dvi port. computer correctly identifies monitor type and color profile. latch on dp connector prevents accidental disconnect. this is NOT the correct cable to connect computer dvi port to monitor dp port. cable is limited to 60Hz 1080p.

Works great for DP - DVI
This is a strange cable, but it might be useful to some people if your (newer) computer has a display port output but your (older) monitor does not have a display port input. If your monitor has only a DVI or RGB 15-pin input AND your computer tower has a display port output, this is what you need. The DVI port on your monitor will give you a MUCH better picture than the blue 15-pin RGB port will. This cable is meant for connecting a newer computer tower to an older monitor like this. Just be aware that you can’t get a 4K picture with this (and your monitor likely doesn’t support 4K resolution if it doesn’t have a display port or HDMI port anyway) cable. It will work fine for 1080P and probably be OK for 2K resolution at max. I can confirm this cable works fine and gives a good picture for this situation. Also, unlike an HDMI cable, this cable does NOT carry a sound signal. So make sure you have your computer connected to whatever speakers you want to use.Side note: Be sure to measure the length and make sure the cable is long enough. Also, if your computer AND monitor BOTH have display ports OR HDMI ports, use those instead and don’t buy this cable - those ports are much better.

It just works.
Item worked perfectly to connect my older monitor to my new computer. So much cheaper, then you would pay an electronics store. Definitely recommended.

Works Perfectly
Have several monitors and one only has dvi and hdmi. video output via displayport is always preferred. this cable worked perfectly with good signal quality.

Works great for my old 2012 Asus Monitor
Works just as advertised! I haven't had any video quality issues with my old 1080p 24 inch monitor from 2012. The cable is sturdy and the connect is pretty standard so nothing to write home about.5 Stars since I can't think of any issues or any improvements I would want.

Super happy with result using display port to DVI-D port
So for some reason my NVidia GTX-1050i which was providing video to 3 monitors suddenly started flaking and cutting out for long periods on the display port going to an ASUS 27" 16x9 flat panel. It worked for years but just started going black (I think the video card may be wearing out at the higher frequency required by the monitor from the display port). I swapped the connection to use a VGA to HDMI cable and the bigger panel would now boot first in the series of 3 monitors logging in, like my smaller 17" Sony 4x3 used to. It seems the first port left to right on the back of the video card, which is VGA, boots up first when connected with the others. I have 2 ASUS 27" panels purchased at different times but the newer 27" one was flaking on the the HDMI ports both (?) no matter what sources I used. I tested things with the VGA to DVI-D port on the flaky monitor and was happy that things worked. The second one used the HDMI to HDMI and the third old Sony only had VGA and DVI-D inputs so I knew the DVI-D worked from the previous connection but now I had to test the output of the video card from the display port to a DVI-D, and it works perfectly. I have had no drop outs and no problems with any of the monitors or their video quality. Previously I tried rolling back drivers, swapping cables with what I had, etc., but it took the smaller monitor (needing less resources from the video card's display port output (lower vertical refresh freq of 60Hz vs 120Hz required by the 27") to work without glitching. Anyway this cable is nice looking and worked immediately and consistently. Thanks for restoring my PC. BTW, I still run Win 7 due to software needs.

Worked to Temporarily Add Additional Monitors
This was used in a temporary situation to add additional DVI monitors for a gig where the USB-C dock only had additional HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.
