A great approach to a sensitive issue.
We all want to show our best side to everyone. That is only natural. What becomes confusing is how to tell when people are honest, or at least up-front. Recognising the signs of deception takes time and a lot of practice. Not to mention that liars don't always use the same tactics. This book was clear, to the point and at times was quite a revelation. It was written in an understandable, informative, clear language that was easy to follow and held my attention. I would have no hesitation in recommending this book to help understand behaviour, body language, and trends.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Liars beware!
An extremely informative book. A great guide on how to spot when someone is lying to you and what to do about it.

4.5 stars
How I wish I read this book while growing up, because it has opened my eyes to the various ways people (can) lie and it would have saved me so much stress and heartache having dealt with them most of my life. The author has written it in a way that it was easy to understand and put the methods into practice. I found some parts a bit repetitive, not much, but I guess it was necessary to reiterate them.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Superb, clear and easy to read
I probably could spend line after line describing, in detail, the span of the book, chapter by chapter. I would much rather you read this excellent book yourself. My overall summary would be that James Williams has written a work that is incredibly clear, interesting and illuminating. I have read other works on this subject and, although they are very well written and interesting, don’t always make it ‘down to earth’ clear. It’s one of those books you are just delighted to go back to and continue. Excellent.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3rd class information.
There was a lot of casual waffle and only a very shallow overview of the subject. The information between the casual conversational padding could have been condensed into no more than 1500 words and former the introduction to a more sensible book. If I was to give this a grade equivalent to a university essay it would only receive a 3rd class mark of I was feeling generous.

A must read for parents of teenagers.
This is a well written and easy to read set of tips for sifting out the nuggets of truth from everything else! There’s no foolproof method but this book offers some help along the way. And not just for parents of teenagers.

Book title describes it perfectly!
This book is a great quick read for learning how to tell if someone is lying to you. Though I have a slightly different opinion than the author on some points, I found the book very well researched and informative as well as interesting. I especially liked the sections on why people lie, dealing with motives and how to read little nuances in body language. There are many tips that are great for learning how to read people in general. I also liked the pep talk at the end.

Pretty thorough
The book is pretty thorough in it's descriptions of liars, the lies they tell and to what degree they are telling them. It covers everything from little white lies parents tell their kids (like Santa Claus being real) to much serious lies, like when a spouse is cheating. The book then dives into how to spot the lies as they're being told to you, mostly from physical cues. The book's methods are not 100% effective, though. I once dated a pathological liar who never exhibited the telltale physical signs. Some people are just really, really good at it, I guess. Still, an informative read well worth getting, with techniques that will help you navigate social situations. Recommend.

Wish I Had Read Sooner
I got a lot of good information from this book. I recently called out someone about a lie they told me, and I handled the situation badly. Oh well! The biggest lesson I learned this book is to not shoot from the hip when dealing with a liar. Hopefully, I will not have to confront any more liars in my life.
