Great model answers and checklist to keep student revision on track.

Very happy with this book. I bought two in this series for my nephew and he has worked really well through them both and can now answer exam questions with confidence. I couldn't ask for more, thank you

This guide is useful but not as good as I expected.It has good exemplars using past AQA exam questions with the actual AQA images which can guide students. But a major flaw is that the images are in black and white. This creative writing guide should be in colour to help students and aide creativity and creation of vocabulary.This appears to be self published.I'd use the exemplars but I will be using my own images or simply accessing the actual AQA exam papers that the images and questions were taken from.I'm a little underwhelmed with this guide.

I bought this book to help my GCSE students in FE. I am disappointed because each story has far too much dialogue. I won’t be using any of the stories, unfortunately.

For any student of GCSE English this book is a must. The guidance and exercises are well pitched and tightly focussed on developing the skills, knowledge and practice that are needed to target the top grades. This is very useful. But what makes this book indispensable are the twelve excellent sample answers, each responding to a different topic/question typical of the GCSE exam. These stories not only provide students with models for what a good answer looks like, but also show how different techniques of story writing can be deployed in the demanding setting of a timed piece under exam conditions. I will be recommending this book to my colleagues as well as all my students.

It’s good to read the model answers for GCSE level stories but they use a lot of dialogues which include quotation marks. It’s easy for students to make mistakes in grammar while using quotations. I think to only use it if you are very confident otherwise this may cause to lose marks in the exam.

What is good about this book is that there are many stories to read from however this book focuses more on dialogue.

I am hopeful that if the book is used to practice for exams, it should prepare the students better.
