At this price? Crazy.
Actual ambilight solutions are $200-$500. Go Phillips hue sync bundle and you may as well be buying a new TV. Govee has a solution for $80 that'll do similar, but you'll need a camera perched on your screen.I genuinely didn't think this would work at the price. I thought I had to be reading things wrong. No way this is capturing my monitor and reproducing the colors in bias all from a USB for around 30 bucks. Sure, the software isn't the prettiest UI, and the english translation has spelling errors. It does the thing. For 30 bucks. And it's honestly just as good as any of the DIY open-source software options available. I used prismatic in the past, which is fine, but you need to do this whole calibration of telling it how many LEDs are on each side, but this software does that itself. Cut off any excess, it figures it out and adjusts. No cameras, it just works. At this price.

A Good Budget LED Backlight
I have a 34" 21:9 ultrawide display, and 21:9 is not really supported which is disappointing. Read on.Installation was a snap. As requested from the instructions, first I plugged it all in and tested it. The first LED and last LED were bright white during the test (plug it in and turn it on) which was expected behavior as it's showing that it knows where the first and last LED 'is'. Once I verified all the LEDs worked, I used a damp cloth and the self-adhesive to adhere it to the back of the display. I followed the YT instructions to *not* cut the corners and instead ....bend the LED strip. Which is weird. There were plenty of LEDs, I have about a 1.5 feet in excess which I removed.Downloading the driver/software was easy.+ Everything "worked" out of the box, even if they call the adaptive lighting "movie mode".+ The LEDs are bright. I can run these at 50% and be totally happy with the results.- There is no calibration in the app, which means this only *truly* works for 16:9 displays. I hope BTF will let you calibrate the LEDs with the aspect ratio of your monitor in the future. I have sent an e-mail on the matter.- I was disappointed that OpenRGB or another open source software solution wasn't usable from my short study on the matter. As with all my software, I firewall it and use a Ubiquiti DreamMachine to monitor for trouble and haven't seen any oddities pop up.Conclusion: For a backlight system 1/5 the price of the competition, this does the job. It could do it better, which is disappointing, but it works.Reference Material: LG 34" Ultrawide Display: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011ESXHBA/

wouldnt recommend
The item works well. the lights look great and it syncs with your screen very well. My problem, within the first day of installing this, my computer started shutting down when the cpu wasnt under any load. I would get up to get a drink and come back to my computer on the start up screen, i'd log back in and have to reset my wattage settings and reset my fan curves. Its very annoying. After uninstalling the magic light program my computer hasnt shut down on its own. Also, when going through the inital install setup, the magic light installer is in chinese and you have to guess on the first couple options it gives you, until it lets you choose english as the primary language

Not the best
The software application it uses to control the lights needs a major update and the controller doesn’t reed all connections att all times I will disconnect and tee connect constantly

Easy install
About as easy as it gets. Snip, stick, and plug. Simple as that. Software for immersion is lightweight. Not sure I'd let it call back to China though.

Works ... kind of.
The longest this has worked for is 10 minutes. The lights freeze on one color and need to be power cycled to get them to work again.Update - Good luck if you try to contact the seller. They initially responded and asked for a video. After they viewed it they stopped responding. This was well over a week ago.

Absolutely Amazing
Literally exactly as it says. Beyond easy to set up just connect the LEDs before you cut them. Just taped everything on plugged it in and downloaded the app and worked right away absolutely no issues. Could not be happier.
