First things: size is as described, it’s pretty portable and when packed in the travel bag is about the size of a laptop bag. It works well if you follow the instructions and use a relatively coarse grind. If you’re someone that really enjoys the process of coffee/espresso, this is a fun way to get really involved. There are plenty of video guides on YouTube that show you exactly how to use it. The build quality for the most part is good. I will say - it does require putting a bit of strength into the pull. It shouldn’t be a problem for most people, but it’s kind of similar to pulling open a heavy door? It’s hard to come up with a similar comparison that everyone can relate to 😂 The main reason I took a star off is because the base is a little unstable. Not something you really want to have to be careful of when you’re preparing a scalding hot drink. I haven’t had issues with spilling or leaks or the device falling over, but it’s not so safe that I’d let anyone use it without a word of caution first.

I've wanted a way to make legit espresso at home for years and could never bring myself to spend a thousand dollars on an espresso maker. This product makes very good espresso, and it makes real espresso not just strong coffee. Making the espresso is a bit of a process and is not as simple as just putting beans into a coffee maker but it's not difficult. Following the directions in the instructional video from the website allowed me to make great espresso on my first try. It takes me about 20 minutes start to finish to make a shot of espresso including boiling the water, have grinding the beans, and clean up afterwards. If I'm making additional shots each adds another few minutes depending on how coordinated I am with having the next beans ground and ready when each shot is done. Overall I'm extremely pleased and would recommend this product to anyone who enjoys spending some time and applying some skill to making excellent coffee at home.

Since purchasing this product, I have saved so much money from not having to go to a cafe. Obviously not a Marzocco but for what it is, it pulls damn good espresso.
