Fieldpiece VP67 Vacuum Pump – 6 CFM, 1/2 HP DC Motor, RunQuick Oil Change System – Portable - Professional HVAC Tool - A2L Compatible

I was torn between buying an entry level RobinAire or this one. This is a little over $100 more than the RobinAire. I mostly work on automotive AC. This thing works great, drew down the system I was evacuating in no time. The real treat is the oiling system. Quick change with no mess or plugs. Put the oil container in the slot and open the valve and it flows right into the container. Their instructions stated that you could also change it while running. Another neat feature for a system that is potentially "wet" is that it has a valve that lets you vent the air from the system to the atmosphere vs contaminating the oil until you get it some of the water boiled off. Only thing is that you need adapters to connect to R134 automotive style Acme fittings vs flare.

Update 5/25/2023 After talking to Chris at fieldpiece, who recommended that I return this pump. I had explain to him when I received it there was oil coding the bag covering the pump and the pump was also covered in oil. I also showed pictures of the box and how damaged it was in this review and explain that to Chris he said yes I would definitely send it back. I use the pump first time initially tested out dry vacuum down and tested on the gauge. Worked fine. Used it a second and the third time on cars to pull a vacuum on the AC system and it worked really well however it started making a weird sound. Periodically not consistent. But when you buy a new you expect knew not to pay new price for a used item or refurbished. Got this pump and sadly SOMEONE packaged it upside down. So the entire shipping time, the pump was upside down in the outer box. There was oil inside the plastic bag. Can’t tell if it may have been used before, but had a label cut out of the top of the box, and appeared to be re-taped. First pic shows label cut out of box. Pic 2 shows side view and damage to corners and pic 3 shows damage to the top styrofoam from being shipped upside-down in box. 4th pic shows clearly it is supposed to be shipped with an arrow pointing UP. The last pictures shows oil everywhere on the outside of pump. It wasn’t like costed but had quite a bit of oil everywhere. Initial test worked great and pulled vacuum super fast. Second was used for a car AC system. Had a leaking schrader core. After replacing core and adding a little R134a it’s didn’t blow any colder. So used recovery machine then drew vacuum down wirh this oump. Let run for 50 minutes. When charging the AC system, the air coming from the vent was 45 degrees F ambient temp was around 90. Did an amazing job! I love my Fieldpiece Pump. Very pleased with purchase.

Decent weight easy to carry and stands well, very user friendly! Love the gas ballast feature. Easy access ports, and multiple ports. Oil is super easy to change on the fly if needed. With a lighted oil viewing. Pulled 63 microns on my first pull. Super quiet and fast with the larger evacuation ports. Did well!
