Absolutely Love This Rice Cooker!
I’m honestly so impressed with this rice cooker. The design is sleek and modern, and it’s super easy to clean! The rice comes out perfect every time, fluffy and delicious. I especially love that it can make congee/porridge using the steam function. Such a versatile and important feature me. The inner bowl feels sturdy and high-quality, not flimsy at all. Titanium is the safest option by far.I noticed it’s frequently returned, and I honestly don’t understand why. Maybe people didn’t give it a proper try? Please don’t let that discourage you. This rice cooker is totally worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Perfect every time
I have tried many rice cookers and I have to say this one is the best. Turns out perfect every time. I love the steamer as well.

Great but flawed
Excellent rice cooker with a flaw. The low carb insert cooked rice very fluffy and pretty close to perfect but they should of made the insert with a silicone seal so it doesn't scratch up the inner regular rice cooking titanium pan. I don't know how deep the scratches are. It appears to have a clear coating on it that is scratching first. I don't know how toxic it could getUsually I throw out any cookware that has scratches or I will buy the insert if it's not more than 50% of the rice cooker bit Toshiba it appears does not sell nor does their link work on the website..... the regular rice cooking portion is as good as any rice cooker/warmer, just like tiger or zojirushi. The low carb one would of been a homerun had they just put a seal to protect the pan from scratches. Too bad because it's probably the best rice I've ever had... It even makes the best leftover rice for fried rice cooled in fridge...This was my only hesitation when I first thought about buying it and it came true, it's scratching. It's not Teflon deep scratches yet but maybe I will develop. Who knows maybe the rice is so good it's worth buying one every 6 months. Or just buy a 2nd one and just use one pan for regular rice and the other for low carb and hope for no toxins.

Fabulous
Fabulous. Does rice just right. Wash the pot be rinsing. Nothing sticks, let alone burns on. Oatmeal smooth and more flavorful. Add carrots, green pepper, tomato chunks, asparagus, a boullion cube, some sausage, a little extrawater, press the button and -- done.It just works.

Low carb rice is a thing!! It works!!
For me this was a very welcome device as I practice a ketogenic diet and rice for me is one of those forbidden items given the amount of carbs that were in there it sends my shirts High which an impacts my diabetic spikes now the process of basically extracting out the soluble starches from the rice and having a concentrated rice sugar water at the bottom of the bowl is is what you're doing in your left with a the fiber fibrous carbs which it takes longer to digest see spreading out that Sugar over time but it does work I know the effects on my body when I eat carbs and instead of getting a massive water retention you know because I'm eating carbs this time yeah it's just a minor flip on it my sugar levels did not Spike anywhere near as high of course they did go up some but not anything like it normally would when I eat rice so if you're looking for an option that you can you at least enjoy this rice once in a while this is a great product to buy

Great Features
The media could not be loaded. 4 Stars to 1 Star Update:I bought this one in April 2024, by August of 2024 it started getting loud from almost no sound at all, used to be just a sound of a fan inside it. It’s louder than my GE low-noise dishwasher but I learned to accept it coz it’s made in China. Every day it bothers me when I cook rice until I realized I need to let the world know about it in a form of an updated review from used-to-be my beloved rice cooker so future potential consumers will be aware and leave them the liberty to decide. I attached a video so you can hear the sound. You decide.Original review: My ordinary rice cooker just stopped working. I bought this Toshiba a couple of weeks ago and so far it working great. I bought this specifically because of its low carb features. There’s no way to measure the caloric loss due to that feature hopefully there is considerable loss.

Attractive, well-made piece of kitchen equipment
In addition to this Toshiba rice cooker, over the past 25 years we have had two zojirushi "fuzzy logic" (as they used to be called) models (all from amazon). All claim to balance cooking time to rice/water so you get perfect results every time, and all have worked pretty well (family of chronic estimators when it comes to weights and measures!)The first Zojirushi lasted twice as long as the second one, but they both lasted multiple years so can't complain. This year, we wanted to try a model with the carb-reducing technology, and this Toshiba model had that, plus all the zojirushi abilities, at a lower price point. I should add that we briefly tried, and returned, the more popular but super-pricey Cuckoo model as not being good value for money. We are very happy with this Toshiba brand. Rice comes out perfectly regardless of the setting. It counts down in minutes from when you press the start button (Zojirushis only showed minutes for last ten minutes). Carb-reduced rice takes longer but tastes great. The steam function is new.It doesn't keep the rice warm quite as well as the Zojiruishi's in that it's a tad dryer in the Toshiba. That's not a big concern for us because most of it gets eaten and what doesn't is eaten for lunch the next day, but if you want to keep rice warm for a long time, this might not be the best one for that.It feels well constructed, it opens and closes with a satisfying thunk, the metal basket for steaming and carb reduction is not thin (as on other models) and the machine itself is that shiny kind of white I associate with sci-fi films like WALL-E (it reminds me of Eve from that film, so I've named it).Overall, highly recommended.
