Perfect solution for small home studios
The isolation box is perfect for small studio microphones when used in less than ideal environments. The front of the unit is acoustically transparent and acts as a good pop shiled, whilst the sides and rear of the box stop reflections from walls and furniture entering the mic capsule, making for a neutral or dead room sound. The product is well made and of great quality and well packaged for delivery. I have used Nordell products before and they make some great equipment including cables and power supplies.

ok
Bought it hoping it will work for my sm7b but turns out that sm7b is slightly too big for this. However using it on my another condenser mic is perfect. It isolates sound really well.

Helps reduce sound reflections.
Helps reduce sound reflections and background noise. Nice built in pop screen design.Things to consider, microphone handle diameter. A slim microphone may need a wrapping around the handle for a tight fit.Perfect fitting for most condenser microphones.Spherical dynamic microphones may need a handle wrapping and due to the orientation of the insert position mic gains may well need turning up more than normal for better at source amplitude.A good investment for vocals in an untreated or semi sound treated room.Have not tested instruments through this yet such as acoustic guitar. Would like to test performance with two, one not too far off sound hole centre and another above the neck. I only bought 1 for vocals. This maybe beneficial for producers and recording artists that have trouble in stopping their vocalist chewing on the mic. 🤣👍

No noticeable difference?
The media could not be loaded. I am not sure I can hear any difference in the recording—with and without the Voice Box?

Doesn't help with background noise
My review is based solely on using this as a tool to help with background whitenoise. As somebody who lives in a studio apartment, there's a lot going on (electricals wise) which I try my best to mitigate against when recording. Turning the aircon, fans and fridge off helps but evidently I'm still left with an annoying whitenoise hum, which is picked up through my condensor mic intensely, when the gain is turned up. It's not a ground loop or cable problem either, as the connection is silent when everything is turned down - it's absolutely the sorry state sound of a large room full of electrical activity. I was hoping this product would help with that, by creating a foamed wall of defense around the mic, which could block some of this environmental whitenoise - unfortunately it doesn't do a single thing to help.Other things I didn't like are that the box is rather big - way bigger in the flesh than the photos suggest - this makes it impractical for use during any sort of live video call or stream, as it can't be hidden out of the shot and will block your view if you need to see a screen. It also slightly decreases the quality of the vocals, making them sound a bit blocky and muddy compared to without.I'm not going to rate this one star because it might have other uses, or work for other problems such as an echo but it certainly doesn't work for the problem I had, which is irritating background whitenoise.

Great for box room echo
I have a little box room which always had issues with echo. I was considering putting foam over the walls but it's seemed so expensive and also not very versatile if you needed to ever use the room for something else.I randomly saw this foam 'box' and thought it was worth a try (if a little expensive for what is essentially some foam).Wow - the difference really is amazing - my Blue Yeti sounds so much better now! I wouldn't say the room echo is 100% gone but I'd say it must be at least 90% now which makes a noticeable difference.I'm using this with my Blue Yeti mic which juuust about squeezes in. I saw one reviewer mention his mute button kept getting pressed but if you squeeze it in as far as possible (and it is hard and tight to do) then you can ensure the mute doesn't get pressed. Just remember to set up your mic orientation correctly (and set your dials to just receiving sound from the front of the mic) and you're good to go 👍Definitely worth the price if you don't want to spend load of the wall foam which costs stupid money

High hopes; poor results!
This is sold as an improvement to your sound but for me it made it worse. With or without the pop filter it sounded like I was recording in a bathroom and gained the dreaded hiss of white noise which made it completely unusable. The pictures show this fits the blue yeti. It doesn't. You can barely get it in and when you do the foam covers the dials. Even worse, it presses against the mute button so you just have to hope for the best when you hit record. It removes the usability of the mic and it's massive. I'm sure the size could be reduced. You can't get full usability of your mic stand because of the bulk. For people standing singing at it maybe it works but for video recording look elsewhere.

Works, well made and nicely packaged.
This really works at least to my amateur ears, used for live streaming online and it definitely reduces the tell tale signs of a non insulated room as well as being an effective pop filter.A friend who works in broadcast used similar during lockdown but I couldn't afford the product he used, so opted for this. It really works if you can't afford to have a room reserved for sound recording with full foam treatment. If you have a mic that needs you to talk in the top then I don't think this will be suitable without cutting extra holes.Lasted well so far.
