I suggest putting some small felt pads underneath it to protect your statue and whatever surface you place it on. The statue is so happy, it just makes me smile when I look at it. This Budai is a symbol of contentment and abundance in Chinese culture. In Chinese culture, to be fat means that you have plenty to eat and are very wealthy. In this statue, he holds a gold ingot which furthers the idea that the Buddha in this statue is wealthy and prosperous.
