A lot of care and thought went in to creating this product to prevent any compromise in function
I needed a new set of jump ropes because the 2lb weighted P90x jump ropes were getting tangled a lot. Ofcourse I wasn't able to get a proper feedback from them, which attests to Pulse Athletics' quality of customer care and satisfaction. Funny enough, it was thanks to their concise instructions in the package as well as their prompt answering of questions that allowed me to find the most accurate length for my height and also rectify the whole tangling issue. Now I have both this and the p90x cable, so I can use them if I want to focus on speed and learning new tricks or focus on increasing muscular endurance of my arm, respectively.Having said that, the quality and functionality of this product is definitely superior!!I love the clever idea of using a plastic stopper on the end of the rope instead of p90x' approach of using metal horseshoe shaped hook that one has to clamp on to the rope with a plier. The plastic stopper makes it extremely easy to adjust the length of the rope and causes a lot less damage to the rope compared to the metal hook. The handles also indicate that they put careful thought in designing this product. They are not bulky and have these red grooves that make a comfortable resting place for your fingers, ensuring there is proper grip without having to clutch it tightly. The metal bar inside the handles have 2 plastic casings. These can be removed if you want but having used the p90x ropes, which does have that design, I'd definitely recommend against removing them. They allow for seamless revolutions inside the handle as you are rotating your wrists so the weight in the handles are distributed evenly, which probably contributes to the cable loop being as symmetrical as possible as well.Definitely worth the price!

Simple, Intuitive, with decent heft...great for the academic.
For myself, the work I'm used to doing is very physical and demanding. However, having gone back to school I've had to quit my job for a season in order to keep up with my studies. As such, it's easy to get bogged down and neglect one's physical well-being. After awhile in school, I began to feel sluggish again and part of that was because of the long stretches of inactivity I allowed myself to get into. I largely got a my workout manipulating weights of up to 300 lbs or so through work, so I never really paid much attention to to a workout regimen. It's only fair to state that I'm just an average joe who is looking to stay fit and active, not a person that is focused on creating a powerful physique. And in my research, I found that jump roping is a great medium for a good general workout.I started with an unweighted speed rope but wanted something with a little more resistance...and thus the Pulse fit the bill. The handles are a very good size. The diameter is about 1.25" and the length is 5.75". There is one 0.5 lb weights in each handle for a total of 1 lb. The handles are also foam covered. Something I noticed was that the build of the jump rope is quite sturdy. Even the plastic of the handles were durable. Even dropped it once on tile and no cracks or breaks. Making adjustments is a cinch but keep in mind that you will be cutting the 10ft rubber rope. Thus, all your adjustments will be permanent. If you over cut, you'll need to replace the rope. This rope doesn't taggle in my experience. When it came out of the box, the coiling did imprint itself so at first the rope would have bends and curvatures that depicted that, but I found that hanging it overnight basically removes "the wrinkles" and straightens the rope out (thanks to the weights pulling down on it) and thus removes possible tangles. This is a good and simple rope. It lacks the customization of a crossrope where you can change the ropes to all these different kinds, but I'm a simple guy with simple goals. At a fraction of the cost a crossrope demands, this provides a good weighty workout while still feeling confident in the equipment. Just make sure to adjust the rope to your proper size.

Good rope, but too short
Good rope, but too short. only slightly over 8 feet, rather than the 10 feet per the brochure. customer service did contact me and said they would replace it. So that is good. The rope is heavier grade than my last one. a kind of rubbery material that swings easily, not metal which can hurt you, or hard plastic, which was too thin and light. and broke after several months). this rope is fast due to the bearings in the handles. the handles are padded and comfortable, and weighted. I like the rope except that is too short.

Comfortable handles, nice bearings, easy to use.
I decided to start jump roping for overall health, weight loss, and to strengthen my ankles, calves, and knees. I chose these because of the reviews and the price. I originally wanted a weight jump rope, but these are just weighted handles, which I actually am starting to like a lot. The handles are thick and soft, which is very comfortable and I love the grip I have with them - better for control and balance in my opinion. I'm not a jump rope expert but I'd say this works great. I kept tripping the first 2 minutes or so, but I quickly picked up a rhythm and got the hang of it. The bearings make it rotate very smoothly and swiftly. Cutting the rope was super easy. I'm 5'7" and cut mine to 8'5" and it's perfect for my height now. Feels like good quality materials too. I can't speak on durability yet, but will update in a few months. My boyfriend liked my jump rope so much that I ordered him one, too, but we cut it too short. I contacted the seller and they were super accommodating and offered to send us a new one. My calves are still burning from my first workout 2 days ago and I cannot wait to jump rope again. Definitely recommend. Good product and good company.
