Q: is this complicated to set up?

Setting the alarms on this clock is a little strange. Not what I'm used to. In most clocks I've owned, you would hold the ALARM SET button while changing the time. On this clock, you go thru a series of screens and press an OK button. However, the routine to turn off the alarm is done differently. Again, very odd and may take time getting used to.

Q: What is the mamps for the battery pack

Not sure what lamps are, but it calls for 3 AAA batteries and that is only to keep it runni,g if the power goes off, you don't need batteries to use the radio. I love mine, and then bought 2 more for my daughter and granddaughter!

Q: The electric cord already stopped working on this clock, and it doesn’t work at all (even with brand new batteries) when it wasn’t plugged in, either?

Hello, the batteries only for restore alarm settings in case of power failure, so you must plug in when you want the clock wrok, thanks.
