This is ok for tesla home charger?

I'm using this to charge my Tesla but listen, this outlet gets HOT when charging at 40 amps. Eventually the plastic melts and will have to be cleaned off the charger plug with a razor blade. It takes about 9-12 months to melt. Pay attention to it. If you smell burning plastic, give it a closer sniff test. I'm on my 3rd one; going to try another brand because I'm afraid this might cause a fire. You might be ok with this outlet if you charge your ev at 24 amp or lower. Our Chevy Bolt charges at 32 amp and burns it's outlet as well.

Will this work for a 50 amp rv service?

Think so.... Bought it to charge a EV at 40 amp and works perfectly

The 14-50R looks like a 15A receptacle with an additional vertical slot on top, so can 15A appliance be plugged into this outlet?

No. This is a 240V 50 A outlet. Any 15A appliance in the US is a 120V appliance. 240V would burn out the 120V appliance. To prevent this from happening, the 15A plug wouldn’t fit into this outlet.

Do you know if we can install this in Japan 50Hz?
