Very Highly Recommended
I have found this book to be the best introduction to French pronunciation that I've come across. I laugh as I read it in recollection of the primitive way we went about learning French in college, with its tedious recordings in a "language lab." Dylane provides far more. There are 55 separate lessons on small topics that allow a serious focus on each, such as the different accents, the many vowel sounds, and those pesky combined vowels. Many of the lessons have one or more audio recordings of the words, and you can download them for free from her website. This allows you to practice your pronunciation anywhere by using your phone or computer. There is also a series of YouTube videos that she has posted that accompany the lessons. The book is not cheap, but I've found it well worthwhile as a means of establishing a base for French learning that I can return to again and again. I advise starting with this course before pursuing grammar; the book also has ample word examples of pronunciation that build up a basic vocabulary as your move through it.

Exactly What I Needed
This course, from a native French speaker, is an absolute breakthrough in French pronunciation education. The magnificent recordings allow you to hear all the basic, nasal, and mixed vowels, paired with each consonant. Each combination is presented in words, developing vocabulary. Personal story: At age 11, I changed schools and was assigned, mid-year, to french, with no background. The teacher mocked my pronunciation in front of the class, you can guess how I felt. Now at age 75, with the book and included extensive recorded lessons, I am making progress that gives me great pleasure. My wife, who had a much better school experience with french, has been amazed at my rapid transformation. It really requires practice, but if you are serious about learning to hear and speak french, this course is what you need.

Well done and well worth it whether one is a self learner or uses it as an adjunct to French course!
This book is meant to accompany 55 video lessons, available for free on YouTube and on the author's website: theperfectfrench.com. The author is a native speaker and the videos themselves, enhanced by the book, are a great way to learn proper French pronunciation. The author gives, many hints or tips and explains how certain conditions--adjacent letters or letter combinations--affect pronunciation. There are listening exercises which help one learn to distinguish between similar but different sounds--ie. dessus and dessous which can sound almost identical to an English speaker but have opposite meanings in French. Some sounds have no true English equivalent and one must be able to hear the subtle difference in pronunciation in order to be able to make it. She has a passion for teaching her language which clearly comes through and is receptive to questions.

Your pronunciation will definitely improve!
Follow the lessons and repeat, repeat, repeat - you will see significant improvement. My French teacher asked me what I had done to improve so much. It was these exercises.

Learning
i am making use of the downloads. Just wish it had a more page by page verbal demonstration of the words, and enunciation. Hearing the breakdown of the words is essential for me.

A must have !
The material presented in this book, along with the 55 video lessons available for free on YouTube, makes for a very effective way to learn proper pronunciation of French words. Dylane, the author/teacher, also provides many helpful clues, tips, and suggestions to help identify conditions that will affect the pronunciation of certain letters, and combination of letters. It helps solve the mystery of "why" a word is pronounced as it is. Dylane is a dedicated teacher, and her love to share her beautiful language is evident.

1st page, already 5 misprints
I'd love to love this book, I am French and my son and husband are learning French. I like it. But I can't help being disappointed that one the first page we read, on accent aigu, the book is missing 4 accents and a cedille... Unbelievable. The book is supposed to teach exactly about that, but they're missing :/
