Does an excellent job protecting my expensive electronics
I purchased this to use for my Iceco VL60D in hopes that it will give it a longer life. The compressor is much quieter and the refrigerator runs much smoother. The voltage regulator stays really cool... It always feels room temperature and works perfectly. I believe that this is a great purchase to protect my large investment of the refrigerator.

Works perfectly to convert 15 VDC to a stable, regulated 12 VDC - 3A!
Repurposing an old Verizon FiOS battery backup power supply sounded good, not so much when I measured the output voltage! To my surprise, the labeled 12 VDC output voltage measured over 15 VDC! My search to find a converter to drop the 15 VDC to a stable... regulated 12 VDC found this one! The pros: + Reasonable price of $14.24, with free Amazon Prime 2nd day delivery! + Good customer product reviews for the 12 VDC - 3 A converter & regulator. + I like not having to adjust the output voltage, it's preset & not adjustable! The cons: - Made in China, for those that prefer to but product made in the USA. - The wire leads are on the thick side, which made crimping on Molex .062 connectors tricky, but doable! Closing remarks: ▪ With 15.28 VDC in from the old Verizon FiOS battery backup power supply, the output was a stable, regulated 12.28 VDC... perfect! ◄ see my attached picture! ▪ To my surprise, the "huge" heat sink stays cool to the touch! ▪ I didn't want to drill holes, so I opted to use foam double sided tape to attach the heat sink. ◄ see my attached picture! ▪ The Cllena 8-40 VDC >to> 12 VDC - 3 A, down converter & regulator is used to power the auto shutdown control valve on our RO - reverse osmosis water filtration system. ◄ see my attached picture. ▪ I ordered 2 more of these for a couple other projects I have on the "to do" list!

Great for regulating solar panel to 12V.
I am using this between a 100W solar panel that puts out 17-18V in full sun, and this regulator puts out a nice 12.6-12.8V that I then run to a 12V vehicle fan to exhaust heat out of my shop when it is sunny out. When clouds come over the solar, this unit will put out what it can get from the solar panel, I have tested 4.4V output from the panel and regulator, and that was enough to keep my fan running. The regulator won't just cut off when it drops below the input and output specified voltage, so that may be something you need to worry about if your application requires a consent voltage. In the photo, you can see the regulator sharing the solar input with a charge controller. I went with this regulator so I could run the fan from the solar with no batteries attached.

works as advertised
I decided to power a few electronic devices on my boat with 12 volts as opposed to using the wall wart power chords that depended on 110 volt AC. A lot of devices, like my router, mini pc, disk drive enclosure, etc. use 12 volts. The one issue with using the boat's 12 volt system to power these devices is that the actual voltage can get well over 14 volts when the boat's batteries are being charged. Im not sure the electronic devices can tolerate this higher voltage. This device takes in the voltage of the boat's 12 volt (nominal) DC system and outputs 12 volts. It arrived promptly, was easy to install and works fine.

Very pleased!!! Constant 12.2v Output
For the longest time I've been dealing with voltage fluctuations in my 12v system causing pumps and fans to change speed. Super annoying and not great for some DC devices like LED lighting. I connected this to the 20A load output of my Epever solar charge controller and the output remains a constant 12.2v despite repeated 14.4v spikes with multiple devices coming on/off line.

Well built
Sturdy construction of cast aluminum finned for cooling with mounting points. Leveled off my trucks 14.4 volt output to exactly 12 volt. Clear labeling made wiring easy.

Pide conectarle una batería de 48v 15amp para que alimentará unas luces direccionales de 12v y funcionó a la perfección, no fundió ningún led y sigue funcionando a la perfección.

Seems externally strong and heavy duty. Ran it now for two months with no issues. Heat sink puts out decent heat but does the job!

Wrr er ll I was looking forward to getting the converter into my golf cart. Replaced the really old dead one. Butttt are running wires and testing before installing ( ohm meter). This unit has an almost directed short on the 36/48vdc input side. Almost means - 0-500kohms across the red /black leads before the fuse ( fuse out , connection closest to the metal box) . So now it’s time to see about a replacement. I’m again before install of course.
