Wow.
I ordered this book for a master’s class and can honestly say that this is the ONLY book that I have enjoyed in my college career. Eye-opening as an educator and an easy read.

Important Questions for Teachers to Consider
I think this book poses a lot of questions that teachers of modern classrooms need to consider when setting up how they plan to respond and build relationships with students. All educators need to have a trauma informed approach with empathy and I think this book helps us think critically about what that looks like as individual teachers.

A must read for teachers
As an urban teacher in Denver, and now Houston, this book continues to be the Bible of my profession. Kyle brings the real, everyday life experiences of our students to the forefront and it hits you right between the eyes. This book has helped me to empathize with and better understand my students which has allowed me to advocate more for these students and their families. I am a better teacher because of this book. A must read for any teacher or human being. Can't wait for her new one!

Great, eye opening book.
I had to buy this book for one of my college courses, and write a report on it. I usually hate book reports but I really enjoyed this one. It was simple and easy to read and it wasn't overly long with bigger print. It was easy to analyze too. I enjoyed the stories in them and I feel everyone who is going to be working with children (0- high school) should read this book. It is eye opening that not all things are as they appear.
