JERDON Wall-Mounted Magnifying Mirror with LED Lights - Lighted Makeup Mirror with 5X Magnification - Plug in - Bronze Finish, Model HL65BZ

I purchased a battery powered mirror here on Amazon because I didn't think I would like a corded one, but promptly returned it as the light did not work. After researching many wall-mounted lighted mirrors, I decided to give this one a try mainly because the price was not outrageous and it had all the features I was looking for. I was hesitant to order based on the negative reviews, however I am SO GLAD I bought this one! I really love this mirror! The light and magnification (5x) is perfect for me (Good Lord, I don't think I would want the 8x or 10x - YIKES!) The 5x mag side is great for doing eye makeup or finding that stray hair :0 It came with all the hardware for mounting and my husband installed it in under 10 minutes (I think like 5 minutes really!)... (it took me longer than that to figure out where I wanted it, height, etc.) I also like the 8" diameter, I don't think I would want anything smaller. The light is perfectly bright, and I agree with another reviewer that if it was any brighter it would probably create a glare. (I know the light doesn't look that bright in the pics I uploaded, but trust me, when your face is in front of it, it is PLENTY bright!) Both sides of the mirror have great clarity with no distortion at all! The mirror fogs a little while I shower, however, by the time I'm done washing my face and moisturizing, the fog clears up without needing to wipe it. It extends from the wall so I do not have to lean forward while putting makeup on, then folds up when not in use. The only thing that is a slight bit of a drawback is that the lights get a bit hot, but I can deal with that as the light is only on while I do my makeup. I would highly recommend this mirror to anyone looking for one that extends from the wall and has a light. It is solid, well-built, and IMO looks like a more expensive mirror, (much like one at a Disney resort we stayed at in January.)

First thing first - it's always important to do comparison shopping before buying anything - and if you've done that, like I always do, you probably will agree that the price here, with free shipping and no tax, ALWAYS beats any price in any store, even when they are on sale. Having said that, this mirror is just one of the many many stuff I buy here at Amz, and once again, I find this a great buy for the $ for this product. When I read ratings, I usually start with the 1 or 2 stars, and move on to the next product if I find any of them sound reasonable. Keyword here is reasonable - I can't help but noticed that lots of folks rating low on a product either because it's not what they had expected, or didn't know how to operate (operator error), I just chuckled at those ratings as they really don't have credibility. I even remember one user rated a total Gym (that I bought here) that "the equipment must be built for a very tall person, since I couldn't reach the pulling handles"...I almost died laughing...HOW ELSE would you get traverse distant for the sliding board if your pulling handle just where you are sitting...your arms just suddenly grown longer to move the sliding board back and forth once you sit on it? LOL! To this mirror, most of the low rating is about the low lighting - NOT TRUE!!! It actually got me worried since my wife had been having one without electric plug forever, and the lighting was fine, and I was worried that this one was not even close - I WAS WRONG. It's exactly the same brightness. I guess those complained about the lighting being dim was counting on using it in a pitch black room...which I find it another "wrong expectation" or "operator error" ... the light is there to help highlighting, not meant to be the only light source, and it's fine as it is, as I really don't want to have to wear sun glasses when looking into a spot lighted magnified glass 4 inches away from my eyes! The mirror is easy to install, comes with dry wall hardware etc., it only took me (totally inapt on any labor or work that requires motor skill) less than 10 minutes to do the measuring, marking template, plugging in hardware and mounting the mirror. Long story long, it's a good product with a great price...I'm sure there are better quality product out there, but for this price, this is great for me!

Researched and tried out various magnifications before selecting this 5x magnification. IMO, 7x and 10x is just way to much, plus you have to get really close to the mirror for it to focus. Mounting was very easy. Drill 3/8" holes for the moly bolts and slowly tighten while firmly pressing on the mounting plate so you don't tear apart the drywall. Previous reviews had recommended using 4 mounting holes. This would require additional mounting plate drilling and the mirror base back plate does not have cut outs for any additional screw heads which could complicate final mounting if you didn't factor that in. The 2 moly bolts are very secure in our 1/2" drywall and the mirror swivels smoothly. Light switch works fine. The light is soft and enhancing. With my bathroom lighting, the mirror light is really not necessary, but is sure looks upscale. The light comes with an extra 20 watt bulb. The curled cord is perfect for our electric outlet which is 9" below the bottom of the mirror. I toyed with the idea of hard wiring the mirror, but the cord is semi-transparent and blends in well with the wall/outlet. Plus it's plugged into a GFI. If I hardwired it it would be upstream of the GFI and that is a not to code, nor a good idea. Overall, for the price, this is a great looking good quality mirror. Enjoy.

My wife loves this light. The finish is very clean and great looking. We have had it installed for 6 months now, and just love it. It had been banged and hit but has held up really well. The arm is still stiff and holds in place like it should. A lot of people complain about the light not being bright enough, just take out the bulb and put in a higher wattage LED light. This shines in your face so I don't see how people can want a lot of light coming off of this unit. At any rate my life really likes it.

Straight forward installation. Bronze finish matched our decor perfectly and most importantly, "The Boss" loves it. Great addition to her make up table.
