For Curious Minds
There's always a place for educational toys and understanding the basics of electrical engineering is a very useful skillset. There's much to applaud in this set. The instructions are well produced and put the different projects into perspective as well as making the builds fairly straightforward. Some of the components need to be sourced from around the house, but I think this just adds to the creativity required. Some of the elements were a little flimsy and some finessing was required to get elements to work. The does give rise to a little concern about how often these can be pulled apart and rebuilt. However, I think this is a good idea that is well executed and will make a very good present for any bright and enquiring-minded child.

Poor quality and frustrating
Very frustrating due to poor design and build quality Our LED doesn’t work at all so several of the experiments can’t be done Battery compartment lid cannot be removed with the tool supplied. I had to use a knife to get the battery out Motor electrical contacts are temperamental so you have to wiggle them around every time it moves Motor housing restricts the operation of the motor - it won’t turn at all when other parts of the kit are connected to the side of the motor as per the instructions

Not suitable for the non tech minded
I bought this for my granddaughter's fifth birthday on the basis that we would make the projects together or she would do so with her dad. It was simply too complex and fiddly for such a young child. I'm not sure an eight year old would have managed any better.

My 5 year old son is obsessed with this electrical kit!

Didn’t start to use it until a few days ago, and we couldn’t get the damn thing to work! Had issues with placement of little metal thingies as the instructions weren’t that clear, at least not to an old fart like me. Dumped it on my nephew to figure out, but he couldn’t either.

Soldering defective. Does not work. Very poor quality and no quality control.

Perfect gift for our grandson. Something to help him improve thinking skills. Challenging! A learning tool.

This deserves 1 stars!! The circuit does not work! It tell me "Erm, this does that which-" like what? I do not like this anymore! I want to return this thing!
