Nice Blue Ink
Great ink. Love the color. Use it with both medium and fine Lamy nibs. The blotting paper is a nice addition, but I recommend using scissors to cut it rather than tearing.

Very Good Design
The ink is very good. The ink is so smooth that it feels like I have a different nib on the pen. I like the color, its somewhere in between a dark and light blue. I also like how they have the tissues at the bottom of the bottle, its very convenient for wiping off the excess ink when refilling. I havent seen this feature anywhere else. Also, the ink bottle has a well at the bottom of it so when the bottle is running empty, it is easy for you to get the last bit of ink from inside it. I am using a Lammy Al-star by the way.

Nice color, nice fluidity
I would think that all inks are pretty much equal but it is not true actually. Some are too watery, some have a nicer color after drying, some are not drying well, etc... I have a very nice Montblanc fountain pen which I forgot about with the time. It can be quite a hassle to use because fountain pens often leak, get your fingers inked up. Anyway, I exhumed it from his drawer recently because I decided to restart writing by hand as much as possible. On a side note, this needs practice and my handwriting was getting uglier by the days... So using a nice pen would be my encouragement to write by hand but I could not find my ink anymore. A quick search on Amazon and I chose the Lamy bottled ink after reading raving reviews. Anyway, I have now been using this pen and ink since a few weeks and I cannot say enough how pleased I am with it. My Montblanc fountain pen would tend to leak and it did at the beginning with this ink. Not anymore though. As well, the pen would tend to scratch the paper and the writing was far from fluid. Not anymore... In clear, this ink gives a very nice color, makes the writing very fluid and nice, dries well. I do not care much for the blotting paper because I do not refill every day and when I do, I use larger pieces of paper. In any case, five star worth!

Great ink with shading.
This is great ink to use with your fountain pens. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this ink and its characteristics on paper for the price. This ink has a lovely turquoise color and it has great shading properties! I have other inks from Iroshizuku, Pelikan Edelstein, and Robert Oster, which are also good inks, but cost much more than this Lamy ink. But, this Lamy ink performs as well or better than most of my other inks. I find that I always have a pen inked with this Lamy Turquoise. It is one of my favorites.

Ink with convenient blotting paper
I usually get Noodler's Ink, but since I had a Lamy Al-Star, I would gave the official ink a try. The ink is a bright blue and writes very smoothly. It drys fairly quickly but it will run slightly if it gets wet. The bottle has a small well at the center which allows for easily drawing out the last of the ink. And the attached blotting paper is perforated so its easy to remove the right amount. One side easily absorbs ink, the other side allows you to hold the paper without getting ink on your fingers. I'm happy with the purchase, if Lamy had more colors that could match the selection of Noodler's I would think about purchasing them. Lamy AL-Star Ocean Blue Extra Fine Point Fountain Pen - L28EF

Beautiful color and flow
Works great in my vintage Sheaffer Targa. The built-in blotter on the bottle makes for fast cleanup after refilling.

Love It!!
i love my Lamy fountain pens. i don't get the expensive ones. I lose them too often. But, i always get the refillable inserts. I write in green ink. The Lamy ink works well in their pens. I've been through 3 bottles over the last few years. I'll keep buying!

one of the best designed ink bottles out there
These tanks are so well designed. A deep narrow section in the center of the tank means you will always be able to submerge your fountain pen, and the roll of paper for wiping off the pen seems odd but becomes an irreplaceable feature once you start using it. This is the best designed ink bottle I've encountered, I highly recommend it as your first ink bottle - even if you move on to other ink, this bottle is worth the cost alone.
