Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Lovely book; truely creative sculptural textile art - Twice I have bought this book, and twice it was "borrowed" by students and not returned, well I actually said to keep the copies as they loved them so much. This time, I am buying for my own library, as it is much too good not to have. There are few books out there that touch the subject of sculptural, 3D textile art, even now, and those that do tend to be very pseudo intellectual. I say this as someone with an MA in the subject, who has taught on a degree course, and maybe this sounds strange for me to say, but they often take the joy of the subject in their bid to be seen as "serious" art. Not so here, this is serious art, but has that joyful edge to it as well, making it aproachable to the hobbyist as well as the professional, but encouraging much design thought along the way too. This book is really encouraging of your own creativity, so much so that it has you itching to find some materials and get on with things. A real triumph of a little book, so well written and thought out, every student of creative textiles should have a copy. Review: A gorgeous creative inspirational book - A really lovely beautiful book ! So full of inspiring ideas a lovely springboard to your own creativity! I know it’s inspired me ! Beautiful photographs though out easy to follow instructions step by step . Stepping stones to inspire simply gorgeous! A much treasured book already .

Wow, a whole new world of inspiration...loved it and can't wait to have a go at some of the simpler projects.

Very helpful
The instructions in this book by Priscilla Edwards on how to achieve this technique are really excellent and the projects are a great introduction to this creative process.

Not all dolls heads
Does this book feel a little bit dated with the use of dolls heads in the projects? Yes. But this book isn't all about the dolls heads, there is masses of information on how to use the wire correctly bending and creating solid structures. Using wax and small fabric scraps to create the structures over the frame and even more tips on how to blend all the elements together to make a cohesive project. It's so refreshing for me to find an artist who goes beyond the 'cut out this strip of fabric and sew it on this strip of fabric' genre we have been seeing a lot of lately. This book is colour, texture, fun and great ideas. Look beyond the projects, take the information given to you here and make it your own

A beautiful, beautiful book.
This is a wonderful book. I have loved Priscilla's work for years, even to the point of driving to Thirsk at literally the opposite end of the country for a half day workshop, years ago when I was able. Those lucky people in the north of England! I used to love her fabric collages on canvas, but this book is about her lovely ethereal textile sculptures, using humble material and transforming them into the most beautiful works of art. She is a very generous person, detailing every step needed to create these pieces for ourselves, and a bonus is that she in in the UK, so there isn't the usual frustration of not being able to acquire supplies - for the most part. Yet another bonus is that her publisher has not given in to the latest trend of grey text and pale, barely there illustrations, as seems de rigeur in some contemporary textile books. If you are a fan of Priscilla's work, you will not be disappointed. And if you aren't - why aren't you?

Dolls heads
I love this lady’s work but I didn’t realise when I bought this book that it contained mainly lots of broken and eyeless dolls heads attached to wire structures. If it was just one such project I wouldn’t have minded so much but that was the predominant content. Repetitive! I wanted to love this book but I’m sad to say it’s not for me personally.

I love to work sculpturally and this book caught my eye. Very practical and engaging. so many ideas, and I am already planning some teacups to make out of wire... I normally cover it with beautiful Chinese printed paper - but fabric works as well.

Great pictures and directions for very unique sculpture. I have tried the guided direction (easy to follow) and done a few pieces of my own,... but have found the pieces are very DELICATE. The guided structures can be adapted to different mediums. I love a good challenge and this is a media that will take practice and decepline. BUT I LOVE EDWARDS BOOK and her work is beautiful and I so like it when someone shares some beautiful works of Art that is creative and inspirational !

This is a very well written and photographed book. The focus is wire sculpture, fabric (some waxed) and all sorts of bits to embellish the created pieces. It is very comprehensive with clear instructions. Lots of encouragement and thoughts on creativity included!
