Comfortable steel toe shoes for club security
I wear steel toes at work, as I work security at a bar. Drunk people love to stumble and step on your feet, since I work a club there are also a high amount of heels being worn. There were comfortable straight out of the box. The laces were easy to work with to get a solid fit, snug and secure without needing to over tighten the laces. The memory foam padding seems to work pretty good. I still have some foot fatigue at the end of my day, but I stand on a hard floor all night and it's winter so I get a chill in my feet, so I expect to have some discomfort. They aren't as comfortable as my Asics, but they are better than my steel toe boots. The steel toe works great. I haven't owned these shoes for long, and have already field tested them at the bar to great results. My feet have already been stepped on with boots, high heels, and a variety of other heel types. They have been kicked and even had a wooden sandwich sign dropped on them. My feet have been safe behind the steel toes and all I have worried about is some impact movement. The traction is a bit hit or miss. Most of the time they have a good trip, but under wet conditions they can still slip. Nothing that other shoes don't also have issues with though. The shoes are still relatively new. So they still have a rather smooth look to them, so thisay improve. I also work on various surfaces, from waxed hardwood to smooth concrete tiles. Overall, they haven't given me any major issues on traction. They seem to do the job at keeping my feet dry, even though drinks are spilled all the time and I mop floors at the end of every shift, so water resistance seems to be working. They are light weight, in regards to a steel toe variant footwear. Not light like your average athletic shoes, but far lighter than my steel toe boots. If they continue to hold up like they have been, these will probably become my standard footwear at work.

Good, solid, comfortable shoes but very, very heavy.
I got tired of my normal athletic shoes going bad from the stress of daily use on the job, so I went looking under the search term "durable work shoes." (Looking via Duck and Swisscows and Qwant, mind you, not via Amazon's own search fields, which, inexplicably, continue to be left as almost 100% useless.)Inevitably, nothing that was classified as a.) a shoe and b.) "durable" was available without a steel toe, so I relented and bought these. For the record: The heaviest thing I'm likely to drop on my feet is a disk of Lanthanum/Telluride alloy (or maybe Silicon/Germanium,) that's roughly the size, shape and weight of a U.S. Nickel, so I'm not really in need of steel-toed shoes. But if you want "durable," apparently you have to get the Medieval Class toe box, so I just bought them.I don't know if it's just the steel toe or a combination of that and the heavier-duty rubber and upper material, but these shoes are seriously heavy. Not a big problem if you like the added exercise, but it would be great if shoe manufacturers would offer a version of the exact same work shoe with all of the exact same materials, but without the mëtal hardware. But I knew that going in so...These are excellent shoes despite the weight. I have wide feet and they're available in EE width (if they hadn't been I simply would not have bought them, because "you can't be cool if your feet are uptight," as the old Hush Puppies ad used to say.) They're built like tanks but are perfectly comfortable nonetheless, and I'm on my feet roughly 80% of every nine-hour workday.I got my normal size and width, and even with a pair of podiatrist-prescribed orthotic inserts and Odor-Eater pads, they fit perfectly. When I put them on in the morning the toe areas do feel tight, but the inserts settle within minutes and they're a perfect fit thereafter. So be aware that if you do not use any kind of insert these might be a little roomy. The laces are also heavy-duty and the eyelets for them allow you to tighten them without messing with the loop-by-loop finger-pull thing - but neither do they let loose too easily - all of which I like lots.Given the excellent price, durability and fit, I'm really happy that I picked these. Time will tell how well they'll hold up, but I've been wearing them on the job for two months and they still look and feel brand-new. I'm on hands and knees and crawling into the guts of systems and lab equipment frequently, and though the inevitable dirt is there, I don't even see so much as a scuff on the outer surfaces, anywhere. Good shoes, if seriously heavy in the weight class.

Awesome for a work shoe, feels almost like a sneaker
I'm a mailman and have been going through work shoes like Pez, trying to find something to replace my old favorite (by Magnum), which is going out of production.I've only had these a few days, so my review doesn't address longevity. I'm guessing that I will wear down the sole long before the upper shows much wear - I walk 9.5 to 11 miles a day on cement and my soles never last more than 6 months at best. For "only" $52 or so (for size 8.5 wide), this shoe is not only terrific, it's a relative bargain. Half the price of what the USPS wants me to buy from their suppliers. I was amazed at how soft the insole feels! Trust me, trust me, I've read a million shoe descriptions that say how soft and cushy the insoles are, and they are NEVER true. These, however feel amazing cushy. I've tried a good 10 or so different work shoes from several brands, and none have ever come even remotely close to how soft these feel. I'm going to wear them for a while without my prescription insoles, I like them that much. I hope the memory foam lasts. The shoe is also pretty light, yet the materials feel stout. I also love that they have a steel toe without feeling the least bit heavy or clumsy. Again, almost like a regular sneaker.Another huge benefit - they need more or less zero break-in time. Again, I was shocked. I'm used to leather work shoes that take days of band-aids and pain to get past that break-in point where it finally stops hammering the top base of my toes. These haven't bothered me at all. These do seem to run large and roomy. I usually wear 8.5 for sneakers and 9 for work, but I gave away the 9's and got 8.5 2E (wide), which is just right.I'll update this if there are any problems that crop up over time, but really, I have to say I'm kinda overjoyed with these shoes.
