The 53.5mm Espresso Puck Screen That Lasts
I've been using the 53.5mm Espresso Puck Screen for nearly a year now, and I must say that it has exceeded all my expectations. As a passionate home barista, I've tried various espresso accessories, but this one stands out as a truly exceptional product. Not only does it maintain its performance over time, but it has also greatly improved the quality of my espresso shots. Crafted from a high-quality 1.7mm thickness 100μm stainless steel, this professional-grade coffee filter mesh plate is designed to withstand the test of time. The material is not only durable but also easy to clean, making maintenance a breeze. After almost a year of daily use, the puck screen still looks and functions as if it's brand new. The 53.5mm size fits perfectly in my espresso portafilter filter basket, ensuring a snug fit and optimal filtration. However, it's important to add headroom in the basket when using this puck screen, as it requires some space for proper placement. By doing so, you'll prevent over-packing the coffee grounds, which could lead to an uneven extraction and compromise the quality of your espresso. I've found that using this puck screen has made a noticeable difference in the consistency of my espresso shots. The fine 100μm mesh ensures that only the finest coffee particles make their way into the final extraction, resulting in a cleaner, more balanced flavor profile. To sum it up, the 53.5mm Espresso Puck Screen has proven to be a fantastic investment for my home coffee setup. Its durability, ease of use, and positive impact on my espresso shots make it a must-have accessory for any serious barista. Whether you're a professional or a home enthusiast, I highly recommend giving this puck screen a try – you won't be disappointed!

Eliminates the nonsense of espresso superstitions
Really makes a big difference with my Breville. If you have a Breville (or I suspect any other consumer espresso machine) - make sure you just toss the stock portafilter baskets, get yourself a precision filter basket and one of these puck screens. The precision filters have more consistent hole size than cheap stock baskets and this puck screen will allow for more distributed water flow and less channeling while keeping your machine clean. Note the wild price difference between this puck screen and others - seems to be only name brand snobbery; this one works great. The combination of basket and screen afford a TON of slack in how well you tamp your grounds - you won't need a costly tamper.

Perfect for Saeco pressurized portafilter
This is a perfect fit for the 18g basket in my Saeco portafilter used in an ancient Estro Profi espresso machine. It cuts down on channeling and delivers a smoother, sweeter shot (using the "4" setting on the built in grinder). It also keeps the shower screen of the machine from getting fouled with coffee grounds. My machine does have a round head screw that secures the shower screen and it does slightly dent the puck screen, but the puck screen still works well. I do flip the screen after each use as it ever-so-slightly makes the puck screen concave.

Make espresso with less mess
These discs are easy to use and keep the brew head clean. My espresso shots are more consistent. Seems sturdy and I expect it to last a long time. 90 Day update: 1. I alternated both sides for two double shots daily for 70-75 days. (Breville 54mm portafilter). 17.5 grams coffee ground #6 on Rancilio burr grinder. It did not improve disc life. I replaced the puck filter today and the latest shot now has correct volume and a thicker crema. I will update again after I have used the new filter for 60 days or more. I now plan to replace the filters every two months if I run into the same issue of the volume deteriorating.

Consistently delicious, crema-rich espresso shots with improved flavor clarity. The durable construction and easy maintenance make this puck screen a reliable addition to your espresso setup. Say goodbye to channeling and hello to café-quality espresso at home with this essential tool.

It’s a Must have!
This is one of the best accessories I bought for the espresso machine! It enriches the coffee taste largely, and keeps the machine clean as well! And it’s reusable!!!

Better coffee but more work
The screen keeps the espresso machine a lot cleaner since coffee grounds can't really escape the portafilter. The screen reduces erosion of the coffee bed and has greatly improved shot consistency. Pulling the screen out of the knock box and giving it a quick rinse only takes a few moments but is frustrating when the knock box is empty and I have to use a spoon to fish it out. It is also uncomfortably warm after extraction (duh). I think the benefits of better and more consistent coffee are worth the extra effort.

Did not fit
It was supposed to fit my machine but it didn't, not really sure whose fault that is but it said it would fit so...

Wish Id gotten one of these ages ago - no more grounds getting jammed up in the group head, and improved shot consistency.

The mesh puck screen is supposed to control channeling during extraction. To that end, this product mostly works (smoothening the extraction, reducing the astringency of the shot, and reducing channeling). However, it doesn't eliminate the possibility of channeling entirely. I have been using this screen daily and I still find channeling during 5-10% of extractions. So, set your expectations accordingly.

May it will help when your grinder not grind fine enough, I don't know but to me was it worthless

Keeps the group head relatively free from coffee grinds & helps with better channelling when pulling a shot. A little expensive.
