- Magnetic Tiles Pastel Mega Pack, 202 Pieces

I'm SO pleased that I chose Connetix instead of continuing to buy Magna-Tiles. Such a difference between the two brands! Connetix tiles are made of a stronger material AND most importantly, the magnets are of a thicker width, AND those magnets are also run longer in length along the tiles. This means that the magnetic force in Connetix is much stronger. My son is able to build taller structures and stack them on in more complex designs without collapsing. The Magna-Tiles we have we just use for decoration and not for the actual building because they are so weak in comparison. The tiles are thicker because the tiles have a beveled design that is slightly raised. Besides being of better quality, the Connetix colors are so much more beautiful. I wouldn't say they are light enough to be pastel exactly, but the colors are much softer and lovelier to look at, and don't have the circus-vibe of the Magna set. This mega box has many more super large square tiles and more squares and larger triangle shapes at are much more useful to building. I would consider Connetix sets for the more, serious builds that your child wants to make and for kids that take their building to another level.

I previously bought a ton of Magna-Tiles for my son and although fun and their animal themed sets are great, the magnets weren’t good enough to make anything too dependent on them so I started researching other brands. I found that a lot of people recommended Connetix over all other brands so I bought some to try it out. I’m super impressed! The magnets are definitely stronger by far and the design is beautiful. The light goes through so well. The tiles are very well made and seem lighter also. Absolutely recommend these over any other brand, and they’re compatible with the major brands as well!

What can I say, they are so beautiful in person! I have only had knock offs up to this point because of the price point but decided to try these to see the difference. Are the magnets noticeably stronger? Yes, although your structures will still fall if nudged to Brusquely. There is still an art to creating complex structures. But there is more stability, and the pieces feel sturdy in the hand. The Clearview lets the light in beautifully and I can see these being enjoyed for many, many years.

I have several sets of the connetix tiles (a mini set, pastel mega pack, rectangles, base plates and pastel starter set). Of all the sets only one cracked and that is because someone brought the leg of a chair down on it. They are very substantial. I like the grommets as it makes me feel they are more secure and less likely to lose a magnet. I love the pastel colors! That being said, they are pretty expensive. I would love to get some additional shapes but I feel like I have to wait to purchase them as part of a gift because they are extremely pricey compared to other tiles. Also, despite having a ton of sets I still don’t feel like we have enough to build certain things or we will be missing one shape to create a build from their inspiration book. Overall, I like these tiles but I question if they are worth the price or if they have just used a lot of good marketing. The magnets do not seem any stronger than sets I’ve used elsewhere. I will probably keep Purchasing because I am committed the pastels now.

Many possibilities for building-great for development

These are the best magnetic tiles I have ever used and as a teacher, I have used several different brands! The colors are beautiful, the tiles are strong and sturdy, and they come in many different shapes and sizes. Definitely 5stars!

The pink set of wheels came with brown stuff stuck inside the plastic. I asked Amazon for a credit to put toward the new wheels I planned to purchase and they wouldn’t give me any kind of credit. I won’t send the whole set back because they are a gift for my kids and the rest of the items are fine. I am very disappointed in Amazon customer service. I emailed the actual Connectix company, but have not heard back from them yet. I think this set is ridiculous in all honesty. 202 piece set and it comes with 2 set of wheels? They know how to get you. I have to buy more wheels separately, which I would be okay with if they sold other pastel colored wheels on Amazon. They only sell the bright colored rainbow wheels, which do not match. The color is beautiful though. Way better than typical rainbow colors. The color definitely sold me on this product! We are taking our other brand magnetic tiles to Grandma’s and replacing with Connetix at home. I would have given more stars if the pink set of wheels hadn’t came with brown stuff in the plastic and if they weren’t so expensive. The price is outrageous for these. Update: The Connetix company is sending a replacement car! Amazon was no help at all, but I went to the actual company and they have great customer service.

Love these! Pricey but worth it! Much stronger than magna tiles.

High quality, real thing, not a cheap ripoff. The tiles stick to gether and do not break easily.

This was a wonderful gift that we gave 2 of our grand daughters (ages 5 and 3) last Christmas (2023). They still play with them regularly and there seems to be an endless source of fun and entertainment with all they can do with them. This year, I bought a second set to give to our other 2 grand daughters, who are 5 and 2. I heartily recommend this set!

This is a really awesome toy which seamlessly blends outright fun with creativity, spatial / non verbal reasoning, geometry... I could go on, the applications for learning are particularly high with this kit, and the barrier to entry is particularly low, unlike with some more complex building toys. This makes this appropriate for kids of all ages really, with the possibility to create all sorts of complex structures without the hassle of small connectors or fixings. The pieces are robust and well made, the magnets strong enough to hold, but weak enough to easily separate. This is well balanced in that to create strong structures, kids must consider the tessellation of the shapes carefully. The look of the pieces is very good making the structures you can create very attractive. My only complaint is that this set costs £200 as reviewed, but just comes in a carboard box essentially. While this is somewhat eco friendly, there are a lot of parts in this set. They do snap together so it's not like other toys with small pieces where they just go everywhere and get lost, but at this price I'd have liked to have seen a proper container, especially as this is sort of the "master set". With that said though, the price is not a huge concern and if you think it's too expensive for your budget, there are smaller ones available to get started. What you get IS worth the money in terms of quality, in my opinion. Highly recommend this set.
