While my old all-steel long shoe horn would be up to any task, it has always imbued a sense of being a tool of overkill and somewhat misplaced in the environment . Eventually I heeded this sentiment and managed to stretch out for something else, by ordering this elegant shoe horn of similar length. My hopes were that it would double not only as a functional shoe horn, but also as a nice piece of mini-furniture. The latter it certainly did with flying colors, but how would it perform head to head with my old steel workhorse? Putting it straight to the more demanding task of semi-high-shafted winter shoes, I quickly figured that its shape invited to some sophistication in technique. Keeping the relatively short «paddle» close to the upper edge of the heel, the foot slides easily in, without the need of any further guidance and unobstructed by any shoe horn slammed to the bottom, an act of stealth rather than force. The «give» caused by the flexible spring attachement, does not work contrary to this, and certainly protects the delicate wooden shaft in the case of any brute impulses. Thus, to my delight, this brief excursion into the world of shoe hornology proved quite worthwhile.

This is my second purchase of this shoe horn. I keep my first one in my bedroom closet with my dress shoes and the second in a downstairs closet with my casual shoes and boots. Not only is this shoe horn long, sturdy and works well it also looks great.

been using this for several weeks and it's superb. From the design, construction, and materials used it is first class. It will definitely be of help when I reach that age where my back simply won't let me bend down to put on shoes. Well worth the price.

Shoes pop right on.

This is great an just the right length. If you are older as I am, this really helps to get your shoes on without having to bend down. I have back issues and I purchased this to help relieve my issues because my demised range of motion.

i bought this to remove compression stockings. its not what it was designed for i was just hoping it would work. the spring has too much give for that heavy duty a task. the "horn" also doesn't seem as sturdy as the handle or spring.. i have not yet pushed this to its limits once i do ill either raise it up to 5 star if i can manage to do it without break the thing, or leave it alone if it breaks, i mean its a nice looking piece, and would work lovely for shoes.

Love this shoe horn. It is long enough so you don't have to bend to get your shoes on. I have less flexibility in my left hip and that makes putting on shoes sometime difficult and this long handled shoe horn is perfect. I would imagine if you have back problems too it would help. You don't have to struggle pulling on shoes. I love it so much I have three of them in strategic spots 1) near my closet; 2) near the front door for boots; and 3) at work. It has also proven to be durable and of excellent quality. I highly recommend.

Where have you been all my professional life? Never used a shoe horn before. The length of this shoe horn, combined with the spring neck and sturdy nature make this a pleasure to use. This is a time saver and shoe saver, especially if your wear dress shoes and are always in a rush... Cannot image living with out if I were elderly and had trouble bending over.
