Good staples
If these fit your stapler, they work great. These are for the heavy duty type staples not the typical desktop ones.

Swingline No. 13 High Carbon Staples
These No. 13 heavy duty staples work great in my older Swingline stapler. There are a lot of other, similar products but none are labeled as "No. 13" anymore. I took the chance that at least Swingline would still have the right product.

Great for old Swingline 39004 Stapler
These are exvellent Staples for my ancient Swingline 39004 160-sheet stapler. These 1/2 inch length staples are good for up 90 sheets os #20 bond paper.

Misfit for Swingline's "POWERGUN 1000"
The leg width (1/2") is good. Leg length will vary to suit the jobs, but the thickness of each staple's wire needs to match the thickness of the staplers anvil, and these staples are thin enough wire that 2 get driven home with every cycle. Just glad I didn't buy a box of 5000. Swingline needs to get on the ball and offer a conversion from "1000-8-1/2" to the correct current staple part number.

Fits my swing line perfectly
I needed a little longer staples for my project and these were perfect. Easy to use and the staples stayed in place. I didn’t mind that they came in a little paper box because that fit in my stapler case perfectly.
