Excellent little EDC.
Very solid knife. Great blade, perfect size for a small EDC. Feels good in hand. The only thing I'd change would be to make the pocket clip just a bit longer. It works fine but just seems short to me. Blade is nice and sharp and is fairly easy to open with just the thumb. Nice finish. Looking forward to carrying it for a long time.

Buy it - SERIOUSLY doubt you will return it!
Bought a couple of these for gifts. Really like the look and the weight (heavy for its size). Shopped a lot for an everyday carry (EDC). Probably a little heavy for normal pants in the pocket…. Great value, seemingly high quality, a believer in the CRKT brand. Blade size and shape perfect - in my opinion. On sale this is a great value and I expect I to buy more in the future. Opens very well.

A Blade design that exceeds all expectations. For this price, it destroys them!
Let me start by saying that I had purchased this blade design NINE times over two years. Then I saw the deal they are running on it currently. This blade is in a class all it's own folks. I carry one on me ALWAYS. I have one in my vehicle, my lady carries one on her purse for all kinds of things. Her two boys in their early and mid 20's each carry one. (Everytime we would see them they kept locating one in our house to show to their girlfriends, their friends and and then they started just using them for practice. The ole' single handed deploy and then retract, open and close as smooth and as quick as can be done. I finally had seen enough and x-mas in JULY placed one in each of their EDC at work front denim pockets. This blade is a masterful design. Once you handle it and, flick it open and then cut some paper with it you will hunt down and glide through some boxes with it. If you haven't purchased it by then all you will need do is slide the perfect clip it posesses over your front pocket. Don't take my word for it. Watch the video of it in full 3D. Iv'e been collecting and using folder's for 30 years. The VALUE you'll get from this blade is unmatched anywhere. I have several knife sharpening kits and this blade is so easy to put a wicked edge on that cuts like a razor and maintains that edge for a long time... and wow what a looker! Satin finished beauty and the steel polishes to a mirror like finish when leather stropped. I dare you to find a blade under 30 bucks that even touches this. Form, function & longevity do not all come at this level for this VALUE. EVER. Pick one up. Then buy one for everyone you know would love it as you will. -Anthony Cusimano

Perfect - but I'm not sure for what
This is a lovely inexpensive knife. The aesthetics are impressive, it feels really good in your hand. It has a very solid feel (which is both good and bad). The blade is nice -I like the shape and the thickness. The handle has nicely rounded edges. But it's heavy for the size and thick. My problem is - what is it for? For an EDC in the office (wearing thinner dress pants), the size is perfect but it's pretty thick and heavy. You will be very aware of it and it's pretty visible through dress pants. In jeans it's not obvious, and perhaps a pair of thicker dockers would be okay - but not thin dress pants. Here's where I struggle - I have a shoulder bag I carry. For there, I don't need a super small knife, but weight does matter. So it's totally wrong there - I want larger but lighter. In a backpack, I don't care as much about weight, but again, I'd want larger. So far, the applications that I've come up with are - pocket in thick jeans, pocket in a jacket (but possibly not a suit jacket, as it might weigh it down). And perhaps a small compartment in a car where size is important but not weight. Maybe a pocket in an apron in the shop? But really, in my shop, I've got all kinds of knives and saws around - so not sure it would help so much. I really like this knife and want to convince myself I should keep it. I probably will because it's an example of great design. But think about what it's for before you get it.

FANTASTIC EDC KNIFE for the money
I am not a collecctor although I own 25 or 30 knives. Mostly working knives. If you were intrigued by the design of this knife, like I was, when you saw it online and you want/need a new EDC knife... DON'T HESITATE... JUST BUY IT. You will be amazed what you got for the money when it arrives at your door. It surpassed all of my expectations and, believe me, I'm very picky, almost OCD, with my knives.. In person, in your hand - you will be amazed what you got at this price point. It functions and feels like a custom knife. I mean it. The knife, out of the box, shaved hair on my arm. It arrived in PERFECT CONDITION and operates smooth as silk. Just as it's designer meant to do... It feels and functions like a knife much larger than it's petite size. It feels substantial in your hand. I don't have huge hands but I do wear a size large glove and this knife really allows me a full 4 finger grip. The blade design is so stout and well thought out that, when in your hand, you feel this blade can do anything you might ask it to do even though it's actual dimensions are small. It functions like a much larger knife than it is I'm not going to go into a full description of the knife because the manufacturer, on Amazon and other reviewers already give you all that information but I just want to repeat... It surpassed all of my expectations. CRKT and the knife's designer truly hit a home run for a knife that cost about 25 bucks. I'm amazed. Honestly, I didn't need another pocket knife, I own plenty of them but I'm the kind of guy that can't help themselves when they see a great looking knife for a reasonable price. JUST BUY IT. IT WILL EXCEED ALL YOUR EXPECTATIONS. The fit and finish, the smooth as silk action, the way it fits it your pocket with the pocket clip and how it feels and works like a much larger knife will amaze you. Did I mention DON'T HESITATE... JUST CLICK "PLACE YOUR ORDER." YOU'LL BE AS AMAZED AS I WAS WHEN YOU GET IT. AND IM REALLY PICKY WITH MY KNIVES.

Great knife but new workmanship may leave something to be desired.
This is my experience: I bought standard Pilar (8Cr and Stainless steel scale) about 5 years ago, it is my all time favorite one, as the extra weight gave it nice balance. Please remember that Pilar has washer pivot, I did lube it once with knife oil and I probably flipped it more than 2000 times in last 5 years, without 2nd lubricant. The quality and the finish was perfect just like other brand name Chinese made knives. Since I liked it so much, I bought D2 and micarta version recently, as well as D2 and micarta version Squid. I returned my Squid as the build quality was not on par with my original Pilar, blade was not centered, micart has rough edges, and it was hard to deploy as well. I keep my D2 Pilar, it is not perfect centered and it has stronger detent, but I have fixed it by took it apart and reassembled it after lubing the pivot; other than that, the knife had no other issue at all. I didn’t care about the micarta, lighter weight on sales made whole knife unbalanced comparing to the standard one. New workmanship may leave something to be desired as they are differently built (D2 version has much longer back spacer, bronze washers instead of plastic, flatter clip), but I got my D2 one cheaper than my standard one, with much better steel (D2 vs 8cr) of course. Pilar with washer performs even better than many knives with bearing, surprisingly. And as a knife enthusiast, It is perfect for DIY as well, I have even created wood and copper scales myself, there were the reasons why I like Pilar.

Good All Around Beefy Knife
If you like finger choils you will love this knife, if you don’t you may not like it. I can take them or leave them. Using the finger choil it is very ergonomic, not so much without using it. Without using the choil I can’t get a good grip with my little finger, I normally wear large gloves. For me it is not a fidget friendly knife and I have to use wrist action to open it one handed. It is not a big issue for me because I am not a knife fidgeter. Reverse flick with wrist action works best for me. The blade is thicker than normal, the frame lock Is solid, locks up about 45%, good build quality, the D2 blade was well sharpened and passed the paper cutting test. The blade has a good all around shape and should work for most cutting tasks. Over all it is a well made knife and I like it. I wouldn’t carry anything larger than this around town where I live. This knife is made in Mainland China which is a con for some people.
