Coleman 2000005062 5-Ft. High-Pressure Hose & Adapter

Except for the gotcha described here [...] (Google bait: troubleshooting problems with a coleman grill surge protection) this hose works nicely. The instructions were terrible ("Install as shown on the cover photo") since the cover photo gill looked nothing like mine and had a completely different method of connecting. However, it ultimately is doing its job of delivering propane from a 20lb tank into the grill. Yay!

I bought this two years ago thinking that beings it was coleman, it would last a long time. I noticed that over time the hose got extremely stiff, and this year when I went to coil it up for traveling it snapped on the inside. My fears were confirmed when I turned the gas on and the hose ballooned up in several spots. Luckily I had a small 1 lb. Cylinder along to use. Also the tank adapter end (larger cylinder end) is unhandy and hard to get tight. I would not recommend this product for the above reasons.

Bought this to connect a 10 lb tank to a stove designed for 1 lb tanks. Works great. I was confused initially because 10 lb tanks have two connection threads--a very coarse one on the outside, and a finer thread on the inside. This connects to the finer inside thread.

First one I bought worked just fine, until a squirrel decided to chew through it...obviously not the company's fault. So, I ordered the EXACT same hose to replace it and it only works maybe 1 in 10 attempts. Canisters works just fine and I even got a new propane tank just in case, so it's definitely the hose. Will not be buying another one of this type.

First off, I'd like to say that I have been buying Coleman products since the 1970's. From lanterns, to stoves to sleeping bags. I bought my roadtrip LXX grill because of this. I quickly realized that the one pound propane bottles were not the way to go due to the expense. So, I decided to buy this hose in order to run a 20 pound propane bottle. I received and didn't try it till a few months later during a camping trip. Guess what. It didn't work! It appears that the attachment to the grill from the hose would not let the propane in. I was beyond the return date so I ended up eating the price of this hose. After reading other reviews on this site, it appears that I'm not the only one that has encountered this problem! The needle valave is way too short to or wat too deep inside the hose to activate it. I wonder if Coleman ever tried this hose to see if it work? Very poor quality control! This reduces my confidence in buying future Coleman products. I also read that another customer had tried a Weber hose in place of this hose and it worked properly. I went to Home Depot and bought Weber hose part#6501. Now, my roadtrip Lxx grill works great with a 20 pound propane tank. Coleman, take heed!
