MulchWorx Black Mulch Color Concentrate- Quart - Treats 2,800 Sq. Ft. - Pure Midnight Black Mulch Dye Spray

In my backyard I have a grouping of four huge Sycamore trees with smaller trees and holly bushes growing in between. The area under the trees is just dirt. I decided to take the old mulch from around my house and put it over the dirt. The problem was going to be that near this area I will be putting new mulch down. This product solved the problem. For the old mulch, I sprayed it.In the photo, note that this is NOT the finished look. In one area I only put 1 coating on AND I was constantly walking on it so some of the mulch has shifted. You can also see if you look closely at the upper half where it is more brown, which is the area I have yet to spray. Once both areas have 2 coats on it, it will look exactly like I put down new black-dye mulch.I say this jokingly but the only thing this product can't do is give that "fresh" mulch smell. However, it is absolutely a great product. And I'm not being paid for this review nor did I receive the product for free. I bought it and felt compelled to write a review.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Not like new mulch but improvement on the color

This stuff is amazing!!! It takes a bit of work to minimize overspray but it made my 3 year old mulch look brand new!

This product does what it says. It dyes mulch. With that being said, it will also dye whatever else it comes into contact with (skin, sidewalks, gutter downspouts, etc) so have a plan in place for when that happens. Also be aware that depending on the weather, this product takes time to dry. If your pet or someone walks through this before it’s dried you will have this on your carpet or other non desired areas. This product goes on very dark and fades over time depending on the weather. After my experience, I bought more mulch and covered the old dyed mulch. It looked good when applied but about 8 hours later it rained and it faded considerably. It was also hard to keep off of things you don’t want dyed. I used a pump sprayer to apply which was not mess free. Be sure to wear rubber gloves too or your hands will be a different color when you’re finished.

Looks like fresh mulch! Will stain, so be careful. Cheaper than buying several bags of mulch. Perfect black! A little goes a long way. Hopefully it holds up in the southern heat.

I read the reviews and some were not great but my experience was. It was easy to apply and it looks great.
