After two faulty units the third works perfectly.
The problem I faced was related to the battery in the device. The first two had bad batteries that were bulged. Likely due to the way they were stored, so I cannot say for certain that the problem was related to the seller or the Amazon warehouse where they're held. After a back and forth over a few days and returns, this device is exactly as expected and works pretty well. Sometime soon I'll update with a comparison of the data obtained from this model vs. the Keysight and Agielent VNAs I use at the University.

This is a revolutionary tool for Armature radio
The larger size is well worth the added price. The instrument case is a handy addition. The flow chart is a helpful addition. The inter connection screw in is a pressed part not machined we are used to with American parts. The increased frequency spectrum works on harmonics that limits the dynamic amplitude range of of the extended frequency. The enclosed case for the instrument is a welcome feature. The board with the experiments is a easy way to learn how to use the instrument. Proper documentation is a must. I wish it was made in the United States we under stand quality control, technical support and how to document what we design.

Great unit works well
Great little item, does what it claims, changing to high mhz bands is difficult.

Good for the price
Does a good job for what it is. Haven't seen much of a difference in measured values between this and a much more expensive VNA. Nice and portable. Only issue is the lackluster touchscreen which seems to have issues registering the location of touches near the outer edges of the screen (about a 0.5in or 13mm ring around the display).

Great for self guided learning
Great learning tool if you’re looking to better understand antenna theory.

Broke within 10 minutes of open box
So overall, the functionality was great when I identified how simple it was and how much information it provided, but before I could even attach it to do a S11 measurement, the screen went out. The red indicator light was still visible so I'm not certain if there is a simple internal fix. Its just disappointing that I couldn't even use it to test out an antenna once.
