Best price for a item that makes painting so convenient!
We had some remodeling done last month & the guys had 2 of these these maskers they used to protect our new floor from all kinds of things that could have damaged them. We needed to do some repainting after they finished & they let us borrow one for a bit, but we wanted to get it back to them so I've been looking for another. If you try Lowe's or Home Depot, if they are in stock, they'll run $35+ for the masker & that does not include a blade. Any 3M options you find online can be $70. I liked using the masker so much I was willing to pay whatever at Lowe's, but they haven't had them in. Scotch masking tape has worked better for me than all the types of painters tape I've tried recently. How many times have you laid a line of tape to protect a baseboard, floor, window frame, etc. & ended up getting paint on the other side of the painter's tape? Maybe it's just me?Anyway, this fixes that & makes it easy. Plus having the tape connected to the paper allows you to lay longer strips at a time w/ out it getting stuck to itself. This DOES come with a blade. You do not need to buy the offered blades to go w/ it, unless you specifically need 1 for a diff reason. I was pleasantly surprised. I saw another reviewer mention it came w/ it, so I held off buying 1 & sure enough, 2 blades that are connectable to make 1 long blade if that's what you need. We'll see if this Scotch version works as well as the 3M version. I leaning toward no, so if you need this for a job & it will see a lot of use, buy 3M. For my purposes however, it is effective & does what I need it to. For under $25 I'd buy it again in a a heartbeat.

Good value compared to alternatives
This paper / tape dispenser serves its purpose for the average home owner. Putting the tape on take some patience and it is more flexible than the higher priced ones. Overall a critical add for masking at a decent price 👌

Time saver but read tips
It takes a little to get technique down but once you do it is really easy and works perfect. The most frustrating is when tape slips off paper and you have to restart. I got it down after a few rooms but there were a lot of swear words and rolls of tape flying across the room before.A couple useful tips: when pulling out a piece make sure the "open" side of tape roll is against a surface like wall or your body, it will keep tape stable and prevent from missaligning and eventually slipping off paper. Pull straight out with bar slightly pressing tape to paper and gripping near paper meet tape. When masking a ceiling, have a bunch of small pieces of tape handy to tack up the paper with free hand so you don't have to stop in the middle. When applying directly to wall: Try to work in direction opposite your dominant hand, so it you are right handed start on right go left. Also, when starting out the roll apply the tape to paper as straight as possible. If you try to apply more tape area to the paper because of the angle it will eventually slip off the paper.

Doesn’t work well
We used 12” paper and bottom line it doesn’t work good at all. Taper to paper gets off alignment is very frustrating to use. Don’t recommend it’s a waste of money

It works....
It was a bit of a challenge to figure out how it went together. The instructions were not very clear. Once you figure it out (thank you YouTube) it works good.

If I'd only known
Painting the outside of my house I struggled with using large rolls of masking paper and tape. My neighbor loaned me his ancient version of this unit. What a difference. I'd only thought of these for indoor use (never used one myself). My borrowed unit fell from a 16' ladder, landed on the paper roll, and snapped off. I bought this as a replacement and it works just the same. One caviat, use 3M tape if you can find it. It tears easier than the other 3 or 4 brands I have at home, which makes using this easier. If I could find a tape that's even lighter, I'd use that. This can work with the standard width masking paper or, using the 2nd blade and extension, for the double width paper.
