Zero leaking on my heavy day!
I didn't realize it came as a whole little kit, I was so pleasantly suprised! I love that they include the canvas zipper storage case - this is so handy for storage, or for packing when you know Aunt Flo is supposed to come soon. All the little trial size cleaner and sanitizer packets are awesome! It comes with clear, pictorial instructions on how to insert and remove the disc, if this is your first time trying out a disc, and instructions on how to remove the string if you decide you don't like it (along with a sanding board to sand any rough edges it may leave when you remove it). As for the disc itself - This is the 3rd disc I have tried, and the first that can completely handle my heavy day with ZERO leaking! It took me a few seconds to figure out the right angle to get this one in, with the curved edge. Once inserted, it's very comfortable, you don't feel a thing, and I had no problems with the angle after the first insertion. I ordered the large, as I'm on my feet all day, and on my heavier day it's not always convenient to take it out, empty, and rinse, several times during the day. This completely held my heaviest day with no leaking at all. So nice to not be sitting in blood! It does auto-dump when you pee, but I had zero leaking outside of that. By the 3rd day, I felt so confident with it, I tried it without even wearing a panty liner, and got one tiny drop. I think the curved design helps it fit tighter to your body and keeps it from leaking out behind the disc. I did find if I was sitting for awhile, I occasionally had to dash into the bathroom to reposition the silicone string, but you can't feel the disc at all. NOTE: If this is your first disc, I found it took me a cycle or two with my first disc to really get the hang of getting it positioned right so it doesn't leak. If you don't make sure you get it back all the way, it will leak out behind the disc. Also, I just run my disc under warm water before inserting, and this works for me without a lubricant!

The Perfect Disc
I switched to the Pixie menstrual disc, and I can confidently say it’s the best disc I’ve ever used! Having tried various brands like Nixit, Lumma, Diva, Saalt, Hello, Flex, June, and Cora, none compare to the Pixie. As someone with a heavier flow due to multiple fibroids, I’ve struggled with leakage in the past, but since using the Pixie disc, I’ve experienced zero leaks! The firm yet soft shell, made from 100% medical-grade silicone, fits my anatomy perfectly. The unique oblong shape is a game-changer, providing comfort and security throughout the day. One of my favorite features is the adjustable pull stem for easy removal, which adds to the overall convenience. I can confidently wear the disc for up to 12 hours (and even a bit longer!) without any mess or stress. This disc has truly transformed my period experience, making it much more tolerable and stress-free. I highly recommend the Pixie menstrual disc to anyone considering switching to menstrual discs or exploring their options. You won’t regret it!

The Perfect Period Product (to me at least)
I've had it for over a year now, so I can confidently say that this disc is the GOAT of all period products. Since I've bought it they did come out with a medium size that I think would match my flow better, but even the large size is easy to insert! No leaks, it empties when you go to use the restroom, doesn't use suction like cups do (for all the folks out there that might have an IUD!), and even helps to keep period sex *less* messy. These are all things that they advertise, but I'm happy to say that it follows thru on every point! Sterilizing between uses is easy (I've opted for a little pot that I use specifically for my disc and boil it for 5-10 minutes), and I haven't had any problems with tears in the disc itself. It does come with a little tampon-like string to help you adjust to it, but I opted to cut it off (and they even give you a little file to sand it down smooth lol). I'm being 100% serious when I say this is the first time I've ever been motivated to write a review on a product but it's genuinely the best $20 I've spent on myself, and I know it'll last for years! The one thing that I *will* say is that on the former/latter ends of your period when your flow might be lighter, it can take some more effort to insert it, so on those days I use a bit of lube to help things along (also from Pixie lol). Not necessary, but def helps! Thank yall to whoever made this at Pixie, you have my gratitude <333

Best thing since the cup
My wife got this and so this review will be based on her opinion and written by her: I got this disc after seeing that it's something new new and different from the menstrual cups. I have been a cup user for about 4-5 yrs and felt that they are not as comfortable and leaks most of the time when on heavier days. After reading the great features of the disc, I was ready to make the switch and honestly, will not be going back to the cups. So with the disc, leaking only happens on the more heavier days (and I do have very heavy flow for the 1st 1-2 days), so I do have to wear a backup pad. I am very satisfied w/the "self-emptying" function on those heavy days. I have to say it really does self-empties every time I use the toilet on those heavy flow days. The other days, the disc doesn't leak at all, I can be rest assured that I can just keep it in there for the max 12 hrs and won't have to worry about it. The other plus about this disc is the comfort of it. After insertion, I don't feel anything anymore and it pretty much stays put the entire time until I take it out. This is a great improvement from cups because I noticed that the cups I used would slide down and cause me discomfort after a while. It's worse when I'm using the toilet. Insertion is also easier than a cup. This disc is amazing compared to the menstrual cups. For one thing it doesn't have the suction function, but instead it rests right on top of the pelvic bone under the cervix, so it pretty much catches the flow if placed correctly. It's a learning process, but pretty similar to inserting the cup. I have no significant issues inserting the disc in, only once in a while I don't always placed it in correctly and it'll be immediately noticeable because the edge will not sit on top of the pelvic bone no matter how I pushed it. One of the minus I have to say is that taking it out is much messier than a cup, but I learned that it's not so bad when using the tail to pull it out slowly, and making sure the disc stays upright. The only thing though is I noticed that the tail started to show signs of wear and tear along the entire tail stem. and I got this disc back in May (which is only about 5-6 months ago). It looks like it can break any day now and I only used the disc during my period which lasts about 6-7 days per month. So I have to say that the tail is too frail because I'm very dependent on it when taking out the disc. On the cups, I never needed the tail, and as a matter of fact, I actually trim it off because they are uncomfortable and keeps sticking out. But I'm totally dependent on the tail on this disc and it's actually very easy to tuck it in after the disc is on top of the pelvic bone. I just wish the tail is made much stronger and more durable. Now I have to be careful not to tug too hard. Overall, I am amazed with this disc. After using it, I'm never going back to the cup.

Fantastic customer service, but not the disc for me
The kit is great, customer service awesome, the disc is mostly great. My problem is that I had the string crack on TWO of these in 6 months. They are supposed to last 10 years. The first time it happened I emailed customer service and they replaced it saying that it "doesn't typically happen but can happen with more use. That being said" they sent me a new disc. But I didn't bother emailing about the second one that cracked as I think they won't be sending anymore replacements for that. If the disc is supposed to last 10 years so should the string I have to use to pull it out - and I do have to because I have a high cervix and can't reach it otherwise. So I found a different disc that has loops that aren't stretchy and should last a lot longer. This disc is great if you don't need the string or only use it to find the disc and customer service is FANTASTIC for every other thing. When I tried the cup and hated it, they sent me a disc for free.

I wish I used menstrual discs so much earlier …
a few years back, I made the switch from pads and tampons to menstrual cups because I knew how much money I could save + how much less waste I could produce. using cups was still better than other alternatives, but it created a weird suction feeling inside that I did not like and sometimes it leaked quite a bit. only recently did I decide to try menstrual discs and I’m so incredibly glad I got this one. not only is it a good price, but the design is great and super easy to use, plus it comes with solid directions and some goodies on the side to help with using it. I honestly did not have expectations for this to end up as amazing as it did lol, but this is genuinely the best period product I’ve ever used and will continue to use for the rest of my life. I never leak while wearing it unless it genuinely gets too full, which only really happens overnight if I forgot to change it before bed. it leaks less than any other option, even tampons (it holds more than even the super strength tampons lol). it doesn’t even leak during *certain* times as promised!! and it’s super comfortable to wear, too! I don’t feel it at all, nor any weird pressure inside like with the cups. and inserting and removing it is incredibly easy; it’s just as fast as using a tampon, although you do have to clean it of course. but I am actually in love w the Pixie Cup and I strongly recommend it to anyone who has periods !! you’ll save so much money using it + you’ll save the earth too … you won’t regret buying this !! and if you find that the large is too big or the small isn't big enough, you can contact the company and they'll help you find the right fit for no extra charge! the customer service is amazing and so is the product. 1,000% recommend

Absolutely wonderful company
I previously got the two pack of shordy disks (small and large/regular) and i quickly realized the larger one was better for my higher cervix.. well one er trip later I realized I probably shouldn’t have gotten too confident and cut the removal stem off :) so for this cycle I decided to invest a little bit more on a good disk (again, with a stem) because I did have a good experience when I found the right size before I cut off the stem and it got stuck 🤣. I ordered the medium size because I truly have a light flow but again, my cervix is a bit high and I have had a baby, but the reviews made the large one look a lot bigger. Unfortunately I think it’s just about the same size as the small shordy (pictured side by side) and I think this is going to have the exact same problem as my last. Update!! No, the medium wasn’t the perfect fit, but Pixie customer service is absolutely wonderful and they are sending me a larger one. I will update next cycle when I try that one out! I will say, I really like the multiple “air” holes around the rim. I felt like my last brand had some sort of suction. Of course this is wonderful peace of mind since the previous accident I made. The stem is also very sturdy so I’m not scared that it would break or anything like that with regular use. This one is much easier to remove. I also really like that the “cup” part is super soft, as the rim is firm and a bit thicker than my last disk. All in all, I do really like the brand. I wish all brands would use the same measurements . Going from disposable menstrual supplies like pads and tampons to something like this, it’s a little hard to understand the measurements of the body parts you can’t see. It’s all trial and error. Pixie definitely makes this process less stressful by providing the best customer care.

Game changing. Dont be discouraged. Try different sizes.
These are truly game changing. I first tried the flex disc brand but they just did not fit right and it didn’t work for me. I searched for better options and came upon these. What sold me is the shape and different sizes, plus a money back guarantee. First I tried the petite size as I am petite in stature. It works, but I had a hard time getting it in place and I noticed that it over flowed multiple times (not when self emptying). I am a heavy bleeder, so this did not surprise me. I decided to try the medium size on my next cycle and this one is the one. It fits so well. No discomfort. I honestly forgot it was in. It did have some overflow about 8 hours in but on day two of my period, being a heavy bleeder, I’m impressed. I pair these with period panties and it’s perfect. My one complaint was the mess when trying to take out the petite one to empty it when full as it was far up and not self emptying… I happened to be in a public bathroom and it was a mess. The bigger size should help that issue though. Some tips: •Leave the string. It’s annoying but just tuck it up. It stays put unless you bear down. •struggling to get it out? Don’t panic. Sit on the toilet and bear down like you’re going to have a BM. It will push it out into a position you can reach and then take it out gently. •taking it out in the shower can help with the mess. Squatting down will help you get it out.
