Doesn’t know the difference between bare feet and socks
One star. I got ONE reading from it and three days later, every single time I step on it, it says I have socks on. Garbage. £150 right down the drain.Proof in photo - I’m bare footed and it’s showing the ‘socks detected’ error

Not good for fat or muscle tracking
Not very accurate for tracking fat and muscle which is reason I bought it. 5% out which is pretty significant. I got it for Christmas but then my gym got a fancy inbody scales which is more accurate. My home scales says I have 25% body fat and gym scales says 19%. I have been losing fat while gaining muscle for past 16 weeks but my home scales doesn’t show this at all. It’s only good for tracking weight.

Does not meet the typical Garmin quality
Pros:- looks good, physically well made product- measures a comprehensive set of measurements- once set up, works as advertised and records all measurements into Garmin ConnectCons:- flaws in the basics: switching the scale on is an exercise in randomness, there is no reliable way to switch on the device. There are hundreds of forum entries on this problem in the Garmin forums with users posting videos of their own method to switch it on. That is such a glaring flaw in this product and is really annoying.- The setup is clumsy and cumbersome. Adding another person requires a complicated multi step approval process in the baroque Garmin Connect menu system. (Basically, you cannot give this as a gift to your parents and expect them to succeed setting it up.)- No guest measurements except for weight: if you did not register via Garmin Connect, then the scale only measures weight for a guest user. There is no way to measure body fat, muscle mass, bone mass, water percentage without a clumsy Garmin Connect registration. I am not aware of any other brand scale that has such limitation.- The display scrolls-in the measurements but the scrolling is laggy. Maybe I am too picky here but it is 2024 and this scale costs more than 200 pound, so if Garmin decides to scroll-in text I expect it to be butter smooth. I thought laggy scrolling stopped in 2015 or so.Overall I am generally quite positive about Garmin products but this one really falls short, especially at the ultra premium price tag.

Incredibly unreliable function and accuracy. Terrible value for money.
What I hoped for was a simple task reliably performed. Having used it for a few years now I hate these scales. There have been many times they seemingly developed problems out of nowhere. I'm constantly having to go and tinker with them again. Nothing seems to 'just work' with minimal effort. Our WiFi is very consistent and close to the bathroom. I started keeping the scales on a granite slab in case the vinal floor in there was a bit too soft for it. Still continue to see various problems, from the small and irritating (not sending weigh-ins to my phone) to failing on the fundamentals (weighing myself twice in a row with 1.5kg difference). This would be annoying from cheaper scales but given the astronomical price of these I feel like I've been ripped off. I like other Garmin products. With this one they want you to pay way too much because you're tied into their system. Fair enough, this is the sort of thing companies do. I think it's a bad choice for maintaining customer good will, but tolerated it in for the convenience. All they have to do in return is provide a product that's, ideally, a little higher quality than the cheap stuff out there. Average quality even. But my old cheap scales destroyed these in terms of reliability and easy of use. The index is just terrible value for money. Every time I have to waste more minutes trying to get a simple function working again I'm reminded of the absurdly high price. Best avoided by all, even Garmin enjoyers such as myself.
