Stainless steel. Shy of bending them, which would take great purposeful effort, these are indescribable. The rubber band on the bottom didn’t last long, bit Bull thought it was great fun to remove and shred them. Nice idea to muffle the noise and impact, but not durable enough for the Pitbull. The actual bowls themselves though are very durable and large enough for kibble, wet food and other treats, and as a water dish. Design keeps her from flipping them over. They slide not flip. I suppose she could figure out how to, but so far she’s been more interested in making noise with themto announce breakfast or dinner needs serving. Height is good and being stainless steel they are very safe, easy to clean in dishwasher. Good value for the money.

I bought these to replace the plastic bowls which were nice, but starting to chip. With stainless steel, I won't have to worry about that, and the stainless makes cleaning residual pet food exceptionally easy, especially with a brief soaking. The rubber ring at the base prevents the bowl from sliding across the floor, and coupled with the shape, prevents rocking of the bowl as my pets eat their food (they are supposedly cats, but act like piranhas around food!); the rubber ring can easily be removed if desired. Being stainless bowls, these are the last bowls I'll ever have to purchase. Please note that they are thin, so when cleaning, one can flex the bowl bottom (hence why I gave "Sturdiness" only 4 stars), but that will not impact durability. Very happy with the purchase, highly recommend them.

The size has been good for our Labrador Retriever from when we got her (8 lbs.) to now (30 lbs.). I would get a smaller size if your pet will be under 15-20 lbs. when full grown. Thickness of the metal is perfect. It's durable, lightweight, and easy to clean. The rubber base fits around the lip at the base of the bowl and sometimes partially comes off, but it snaps right back on in a few seconds, so not a big deal. I've considered gluing the rubber base to the metal - something the manufacturer should consider but it's so minor I can live with it. At this price, perfection is probably not possible so no real complaints and I would order again.

My boxer/pit bull mix started scratching at her chin and it was getting red. I had heard about pets having allergies to plastic. Last week I received these dog bowls. They are the perfect size for a larger dog. (both of mine are about 60# ) They feel sturdy and do not slide around. My dog has stopped scratching at her chin and it is healing. I highly recommend these. Great price for such good quality.

I needed some bowls for tiny pups they couldn't knock over. These worked out perfectly!

The item description read for small to large dog. Not accurate at all. Item would be appropriate for a small dog but certainly not for a medium to large dog. It looks sturdy and well-made, but the item description needs to just say for small dogs.

I have a little chewer who chewed up the sturdy bowls I had used for 7 or 8 years for my other dog. The new dog picks them up, chews them up and moves on. These baffled her. She can't get hold of them easily. Even the rubber bottom is hard to hurt. I only have two cautions: They are not stiff, but they don't dent, so far. Also, if you have a big dog, go up a size or two. These are small. Perfect for my 13 lb and 9 lb dogs, but not enough for a much bigger dog.

The metal is a little bit thinner than I expected, but for the price an excellent bargain. Fairy sturdy unless one intentionally bends it. So the durability is rated the same, still they they clean very well, nearly impossible to tip over. My Eskies like them.

I have to say that I was quite impressed by the quality of these. They are far from the flimsy lite weight ones you find at the discount stores, these have some weight to them and crossing my fingers my little girl still hasn't been able to tip them over. I noticed in one review someone mentioned rust under the rubber ring. I see from her pictures that mine have the same coloration but it isn't rust. All that this coloration is heat marks from the manufacturer's process to roll the bottom lip and being it's under the rubber, is not polished out. These are smaller bowls but exactly what I needed for my little puppy. I am sure she will grow out of these quickly but for the price, I couldn't go wrong. I would definitely recommend these for a cat or like me a small puppy besides even when my little one does out grow them, they will be re-purposed for water bowls in the car.

I did not end up using the product since when I opened the product to clean it, I noticed that the edges where the rubber bands are were all rusty! This was before I even used it or cleaned it! Dog bowls should not rust! I had to contact Amazon to get a refund as this product cannot be returned unless considered defective, which in this case it was.

Tinny. Not very thick metal.
