I needed to do a visual test to confirm that my spark plug wires were delivering power to my plugs, and this made doing it alone a breeze!!I'm a solo mechanic, which makes a lot of things extremely difficult. I don't have another pair of hands/eyes to give me any help, so things like this make my job so much easier!Just pop the plug wire off, attach to pseudo plug/tester, clamp to engine body/ground where it can be seen (but not near moving parts!) as you crank engine over, & viola!!Spark/arc can clearly be seen as the engine cranks!This is a sharp looking, very functional addition to my diagnostic arsenal!Indispensable, really.Great value, good quality, solid, you can see the spark clearly (dim conditions will help, too), clamp seems sturdy and held to block with good strength (didn't seem to be in any danger of letting go).Good product. Would buy again, if necessary. Hope I never need to!

It works great the Spark was high enough to shock. This is a great tool to own I like it the only thing that it doesn't come with a wire and a alligator clip to clip it to a block for ground it doesn't hold to good on the muffler or the case. I bought it for chainsaw and stuff like that. But it need to be redone on the design of it.

In my opinion when using this tool you will want to be somewhere where the lighting is dim in order to see the spark, however if your ignition system is strong enough you will hear pop. Works

Super easy to use. Plug the spark plug wire onto 1 end, I clamped the checker to the top of the spark plug and pulled the lawn mower engine over. Showed spark. Saved me hours of messing around with the ignition.

I had originally made my own spark tester from and old plug over 30 years ago...finally dropped it and broke. Saw this while looking for a replacement instead making another one ... this one is well made and has worked well on many small engine and motorcycle applications so far...just hope I don't break this one

With this tester there is no doubt about what you have going on. The gap is enough to require normal to excellent voltage to make the tool fire. In short, you get a spark, there's nothing wrong with the ignition. Hook it to a plug wire and clamp it onto any ground point. That's all there is to it.
