Extremely dense polyester stuffing. The smaller, coiled-up pieces of polyester are evenly distributed within the blend. The fact that these small compressed pieces are tightly coiled up means that those polyester pieces still have not "sprouted" by releasing their energy and expanding. In layman's terms, if you were to tug at these pieces, you would be able to "puff them up" much larger than they were originally - just with your hands. Left as they are, over time they will slowly release their energy, and actually expand a little as they do. This may help compensate for the other lightweight fibers in the blend that will naturally have lost some of their resiliency (or "springiness") over time. It is a "virgin" type of polyester, which means that it is brand new, and is not recycled. You might even call it "RAW". Ideal uses are stuffed animals (when you want them to weigh more than usual), upholstery, arts and crafts; really, anytime you need a very "heavy weight" type of polyester fiberfill stuffing. Not like the picture
This product is soft and works well as stuffing. My complaint is that the picture is extremely misleading. There is no way this little bag is even close to being comfortable enough to sit in by itself. Thankfully I bought beans and foam to mix it with for my beanbag couch, hopefully they will be enough. They need to do a different measurement than "5 pounds", like cubic feet or something. My foot for scale on the picture is a size 9 shoe
