Before plugging it in and turning it on in the mode you want. Hot or cold. Every time it's tilted must repeat this process or else yes it will not work properly or break. And leave plenty of room in the back for breathing so as not to get hot. It should be slightly warm in a cool area.

Plus with seller’s prompt response & resolution I would recommend this product.I bought this as a birthday present for my boss. In less than 3 months it has stopped working. I put it in his office, as he forgets to hydrate. It has been in the same spot, never brought on the road or traveled with, and one morning I went to restock it, and it was no longer cooling. Fan runs, power is on, set to cold, but it does not work. Not only annoying, but embarrassing.

I bought this a month ago for my desk at work. I sit in a cubicle so I wanted something small but that would accommodate coffee creamer. I had purchased a 6 can fridge that died after 30 days and it could not accommodate at full size creamer (32 ounces) which are about 10" tall. This fridge is approximately 10 ½" inside. Granted, thermoelectric coolers are not well suited for dairy products but this one does a fine job of keeping the creamer cold. When I remove the creamer (usually once a day) the container feels very cold to the touch. A bit of frost has been in the mid back since a few days after running it but has not increased in size or shrunk so I know it's maintained steady cooling. Few drops often tend to pool in the bottom. This seems to be typical for these kinds of coolers. The handle is on the side. I think it would be easier to open with a handle. It seems to have a magnet that draws the door shut. I usually trash most everything I try but after 30 days of running continuously this is still working great and I highly recommend if you're looking to store 1 item at a time. I think if you have two narrow items they will fit. The fridge is not deep so wide and bulky items will take up most of the floor area. If you want a few things at at a time you'll probably want to consider a 12 can cooler at a minimum. This fridge also is designed to keep food warm. I have not tried it so can't comment on that. I read a review where noise was a complaint. Not for me. I cannot hear this cooler at all and Im not hard of hearing.

Updating my review after months of use:It randomly stopped working, I've dusted the air intake a few times and after a few months of use, constantly plugged in it has stopped working. I think it lasted almost 1 year.Very disappointed that it just stopped working. I recommend buy something that is built to last or find a seller that has a warranty on their product that they will stand behind. There are sellers out there that do this and you can message them if you have any issues.The fridge does what it says! I can't vouch for the travelling aspect of it however, it can fit about 8 cans of soda and it keeps them very cold.Unfortunately the unit does create quite a noticeable sound in a quiet room at all times.Worth a buy? - Yes! You want a small fridge that actually works and keeps things cold? Get this!

I got this for our little guest bedroom so visitors could have cold bottled water in the room. Basically this is some sort of induction cooling unit. Cooling down a few cans of soda or some bottle of water is going to take all day. If you already have something cold, it will likely keep it cold easily. It's just not a real powerhouse little fridge, but honestly I didn't expect it to be.It's small and it fits very well on a shelf in that room, so it's just what I needed. However, the cooling fan never shuts off. It always makes noise. It is always working at all times. If I had room for something bigger I'd get something better, but with my limited space this was the best option. I don't hate it. It's convenient. However, once someone drinks the cold water in it and puts in new bottles to cool down, it's gonna be a full day before those few bottles of water are coll.

Was good while it lasted. Bought it so that my teenage son could have juice, water, and snacks in hand in his room. Just a fun item to indulge him.Worked well for the first few months and quit about 2-3 months ago so lasted maybe 6 months??Unplugged it, made sure it was set to cool, the fan runs but it doesn’t cool.Will just purchase an actual mini fridge next time. This one is kind of small anyway, even for a couple of drinks.
