Temper Your Child's Tantrums

This book is a must. It sticks to conservative Christian values while understanding every parent and child is different. Though the author has an older style of parenting I still felt there was so much to grasp from his knowledge. I definitely recommend this book to new parents (especially those with toddlers!)

I found this book really helpful. As a mom of two, one very strongwilled 6 year old and a four year old who is learning his older one's ways, I feel empowered by the wisdom in this book. It's instructive and non-judgemental.

First purchased this book when I was pregnant with my first child. Dr. James Dobson has "timeless" information on raising children. It is common sense and Biblically based and Psychologically sound. I could say the information Dr. Dobson provides is common sense, which it is. However, this generation may have more challenges with understanding it's truths. Rule # 1, you are the Parent, not the friend of your child. When they are and behave as Adults, then you become "friends". They need you to keep them safe, healthy and guide them to grow up to be happy, secure, kind, productive loving Adults.

Any book written by Dr. James Dobson is worthy of a good read. I found his advise helpful in raising four children into wonderful adults and I bought to book to pass on to my oldest daughter an her husband to read as they guide their own young son through his growing up years. There are many people giving advise but so few with a strong foundation in the Bible. Dr. Dobson is a Christian and a Psychologist and the combination will offer any reader sound guidance in the heavy task of raising a child in today's world. I hope others will at least read his books and think about them. Children need strong loving parents and not parents who waver with every passing whim of today's society. Enjoy the read.

The book wasn’t too long. It had good biblical based parenting tips. I would like to read some more of his other books. I would recommend this book.

Your children will survive and be better off if you discipline them when they are young. 2 years old is not too young for a spanking.

Perfect for parents who want to raise successful children!!! Dr. James Dobson has been my go to for the last 25 years. He helped me raise my son as a single mom, and I’m so very proud of his success today. There are wonderful principles in this book I highly recommend it!
