Reliance 9000507-045 Lower Electric Thermostat

Identical to OEM (State 50 gal., 220v water heater). This was delivered within two days and took about three minutes to install. I also like the included replacement safety cover, as my original one was a little scorcher from the previous T-stat, when it failed. It’s working great and we once again have hot wa-wa in our mother-in-law apartment that I built onto our home roughly 20 years ago. Excellent product at an excellent price! I highly recommend this lower water heater thermostat! 😄

Restored my hot water heater to like-new heating.

This thing was exactly like the original and had nice instructions for replacing it. This was the part of my water heater that was bad. Apparently there is no way to test for it. I had some plumbers come out at first and they told me that my elements were good, reset the thermostat and told me to call them if it continued to fail. The reset is actually on the top thermostat so I replaced it first, I ordered them at the same time but the top one got here first. These are easy to change, good instructions included, and very cost effective to a service call.

Replaced a thermostat on my AO Smith water heater that was causing the circuit breaker to trip. So far, this has worked perfectly. The only negative is that the degree markings aren't very accurate, but I think that's true of all of them. I set it a little hotter than 120F, but water temps were only ~ 113. I just turned the temp knob up a little bit, so no big deal. Before ordering, make sure this matches your water heater. Some AO Smith heaters use a large thermostat. This won't work in those, and the larger thermostats won't fit in heaters that use this one.

Don't pay those outrageous prices for a repairman, If you have basic skills and common sense, such as shutting off power, then this installation was easy, no problems, I replaced both thermostats, upper and lower heating elements, les than $60.00 bucks, cheaper than the service call.

perfect replacement, I bought a universal replacement locally and found out the product wiring had to be spliced to reach the thermostat. ‘This is to only unit that the wire comes in at the top. Only a few dollars more to get the original thermostat.

My short AO Smith electric water heater kept tripping the upper breaker and I patiently did some troubleshooting on the thermostats and heating elements in the water heater as it happened a few times a week for about a months so when I finally realized I thought it's the bottom thermostat that was the problem, I purchased this one and it's a perfect replacement exact for what I needed and my water heater works fine now.
