The Only Business Writing Book You'll Ever Need

This is indeed the "The Onky Business Writing Book You'll Ever Need". The author, Laura Brown, writes in a concise, clear and right to the point; cutting all unnecessary and redundant words. The book includes a straightforward seven-step method you can use as a checklist to improve your your writing. There are also tons of examples to explain and support the theories underlying the seven-step. And what's really interesting is the fact that the book addresses real writing challenges raised by real people following a survey. I've read a least a dozen of writing book. This one is the best. I enjoyed it.

I love how this book demystifies business writing. If you ever thought that clear, persuasive writing was an elusive talent and not a skill you can learn, this book shows that it just isn't so. The author has broken down the mysteries of being your own best editor into a very useful 7-step checklist that I think works for all levels of writers, from novice to more experienced. If you write anything for work, this book is a great resource.

I met Laura Brown when we were undergrads. Over the years, she has encouraged me to write and given me feedback on my writing. Reading her recently released book on business writing, I feel as though she’s talking to me in a small training room or on an audiobook. She coaches me/the reader through a flawed writing sample and an edited version. She explains the problems, how to fix them and why it matters. Laura’s book is useful whether or not you are comfortable writing AND whether or not you’re in business. I think it’s valuable for anyone who writes for an audience of any kind. I have incorporated several tips since I started reading her book.

Relevant, informative and practical are the first words that come to mind to describe this book. Whether writing for personal or business reasons, most everybody can benefit from this book. Simple to read and organized logically, this book should be kept accessible by frequent writers to help organize new writings and/or reference it when they have questions about grammar, prepositional phrases, punctuation, etc.
