Great detailed analysis. Hire this author to do yours as described
This book is very detailed and organized. The amount of time it takes to do it right is no small task. The service this author offers as a turn key solution is detailed in this book but not as an item for sale. If you read this book you will know what to do. Having the time and expertise to get it done in my opinion should be left to professional like this author and her team.

Decent book that needs profile variety
This book would have been much better if it provided more model LinkedIn profiles. Instead, the author uses her profile 100 times. After seeing here LinkedIn profile picture he first 50 times, you get real tired of seeing it. I would have used different profile images or better yet, different model profiles altogether. It wouldn't have affected the content. I did notice LinkedIn changed a few layout sections so some of the screenshots are already obsolete. The checklists are useful though. And some of the suggestions for what to write are pretty good examples. Her advice on keeping the audience in mind is common sense, but I totally forgot about it. My profile had two audiences and I had to choose one. This made me have to go over it again and create a consistent profile. Overal, this is a valuable reference book.

Disappointing book, thin on useful information and includes some bad advice
Author Donna Serdula is a former sales and training executive who became a self-proclaimed expert and keynote speaker on LinkedIn. Yet, "LinkedIn Profile Optimization for Dummies" reads like it was written with the inane prejudices of an HR recruiter rather than an expert sales professional. The book is heavily padded, over-explaining rather obvious best practices like using a professional headshot. Her advice on putting your age front and center is downright naive. And, like so many of these giddy social media evangelists, she fails to address the pitfalls of social media and privacy. The tips provide the main benefits of this book, but there are too few of them. There are many free YouTube tutorials that provide better information, so save your money.
