Naked Human [Poindexter, Christopher, Green, Anthony] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Naked Human Review: Naked Human. Naked Spirit. - This book contains some of the most gorgeous writing that I've ever read. From the cover art,to the art inside,to the words that spill lovingly across the pages, this book is wonderful. I've seen many of Christopher Poindexter's poems come across my newsfeed of Facebook for the last 2 years & always wondered if he'd have a book. I was so overjoyed when I finally found out that he had published his work. He writes so eloquently & with such honesty. He paints pictures of the human spirit & some of the people that he's come across in his life. You feel the love he has for his fiance, the frustration & sometimes sadness of how society bases so much on appearance. You feel the soul of him throughout. His poems are more than mere after thoughts, they're a wonderful look into the writer himself. I'm quite happy with this book & I haven't finished it yet. I'm only half way through. Also,if you're still on the fence of whether to buy this or not,I have some advice. If you've read Tyler Knott Gregson & loved his work, you'll love this book. Just take a chance, you won't regret it. Review: This is beautifully written food for the soul! - After I got this book I read it from cover to cover in just a few hours! It's amazing! My daughter was joking with me about what a giant NERD I was until her camping trip the next weekend with friends. There was an agreement for her to take the book along. She and her friends read the book around the campfire the first night and then she took it out with her the next morning to read while everyone else was still sleeping. She hiked BACK to camp to get her phone to call me to tell me how amazing the book I had read in just a few hours was & now she has her own copy and is obsessed! I also bought a copy for another friend and he is in love with it as well! Very different people from EVERY walk of life who understand the ugly, messy, beauty of this hard, stupid, lovely life we get will LOVE every minute of every word Christopher Poindexter has placed on the page! Your poetry is like stripping my soul.
Your words pull me out of my darkness and I see light. Poems that I liked & loved: 58 This Poem says all that we are still going through today and I hope racists and homophobes acknowledge their hate and lose their damn egos. Sometimes I wish there was a place in the furthest corners of the earth where the homophobes and racists could be sent off to for just enough time to make them realize people are not made to fit into the puzzle of their ill-shaped egos.

Love this book of poems by Poindexter
Love this book of poems by Poindexter. Though I don't agree with some of the poems I still find an amazing beauty and flow about them. The title of the book suits every poem. It talks about the bare human, who we are at our essence. Our struggles, loves, hates, and sins. It's poems from a human to another human. I highly suggest this book, totally worth the price and enjoyable.

AMAZING!
I'm no fan of poetry I'm more of a dystopian/scifi bookworm but thanks to this amazing book I've found a new love for it! I've always read because I love the feelings it evokes in me and oh boy this book just did that! Short, very straight foward poems (which are rare) filled with mind blowing emotions. I feel like this is an universal book of poetry, its impossible not to enjoy it (at least even a little bit) Thank you Christopher!!!

Softly Bukowski
Have you ever found yourself longing for the spirit of life that Bukowski saw, but told with a less violent lens? Christopher Poindexter captures life a somber wafting beauty - one that sets fire to his mind and pen and compels him to 'drunkenly' drink in the world around him. I am beyond in love with this book of his prose. The love he feels for a broken world with broken souls is palpable. I highly recommend this book to all, I promise with each re-reading (because you will devour this faster than you imagine) you'll pick up on new insights that escaped you before.

I love so many of them that it is hard to ...
What an extremely talented poet. We are blessed with Christopher Poindexter! The ease of each poem and the way it flows just soothes me. I love so many of them that it is hard to pick a favorite. The book is near me always and I love to just turn to a random page when I feel I need to and find inspiration. He is definitely a part of my muse.

I found one of Poindexter's poems on Instagram. I found it understood the morbid and twisted fascination that came with loving and aspiring to addiction and depression. Some of his poetry, his confessions, are uncomfortable to read and push the reader to contemplate love, life, death and sadness on a new level. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys poetry that is not just about expression in form and language. It expresses with startling clarity the complications of relationships and the beauty of humanity. The focus on the concept 'human' is stunningly explored throughout the anthology. 5* I love this.
