I don't know what any of the less then 5 star reviews received but this is obvious in the photo that it does not open up. I measured my knee and ordered accordingly- Perfect fit. Tore ACL and Meniscus Tuesday night working out. Had a less supportive brace until this arrived Friday and was extremely unstable. Remained as active as possible after injury to maintain flexibility so no crutches. Once I put this on tonight it was amazing. In fact you have to be careful that you do not get over confident due to the support. Some reviews stated the brace did not prevent hyper-extension ... False! The hinges lock in the forward/straight leg position. This is an amazing brace that allows straight forward mobility. Will be able to get back to working out and maintain muscle size and flexibility until I can receive surgery. To top it off, the price is excellent. I am amazed how great I feel. Thanks to McDavid for the product and Amazon for excellent price and Prime delivery/service.

I bought size small and it is very snug. I can walk better with it on. Seems to be of good quality

I’ve been using the McDavid knee brace for a few weeks now, and overall it’s been a great addition to my routine. The support is noticeably better than cheaper braces I’ve tried, especially during workouts or long days on my feet. It keeps my knee feeling stable without restricting movement too much, and the material feels durable and well‑made. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is the fit. It’s snug—which is good for support—but it can feel a little tight after extended wear, and I have to adjust it occasionally to keep it comfortable. Still, for the price and the level of stability it provides, it’s a strong choice for anyone dealing with knee soreness or looking for extra reinforcement during activity

I have had many knee injuries and suffered another one a week ago that resulted in a lot of instability (mcl/acl) This brace has been a game changer. Wish I had found it many years ago. If you’re looking for great support and stability, and more confidence getting around…. This is it!! I also have pretty slender legs and the small fit me so well! First brace I’ve found that actually fits too.

This is an effective brace that helps my knee and my whole leg! My son loaned me his and I liked it so much that I bought my own!!!

I got this one because of the "hyper-extension stops. Problem is that they don't seem to be adjustable and do not really stop hyper extension at all. By the time I hit the stops, my knee is straight or even a little past straight. Then the hinges themselves move some more within their cloth sleeves. The brace itself does provide good compression. As I supposedly have a partial ACL tear with pain in the back of the knee, the compression itself hurts some. So I slit the back of the compression sleeve a bit and this really helped. The main thing this does for me is provide enough of a restriction of movement to remind me to be careful. With the injury I have at least, the pain is often almost non-existent. If I go without the brace, I may be fine for 500 steps and then forget to walk carefully and take a step that just crushes. The overall workmanship quality of the brace is very good. I do sometimes wear it all day without any trouble.

Finally! A knee brace for hyperextension that fits over pants and doesn’t slide down! The Donjoy models I found slipped down in bare skin and over pants. This doesn’t and is cheaper. I wish I would have found this a long time ago! I’m 5’8” man 165 lbs. with pretty muscular thighs if that’s helpful for fit - I got the large.

Bought a while back. I have chicken legs and my measurements matched the size for a small. If anything, I thought the small would be too big on my skinny legs; that is not the case. It is very tight, is a huge struggle to get it on and off, and I can only wear it an hour at a time due to the pain of the hinges digging into my leg. Like all previous knee braces, I thought it would stretch from wear over the months; it did not, which means it's of great quality, but also means it's not going to be fitting me better. I recommend also measuring the size of your thigh 4-6in above the knee and perhaps going off of that when deciding on a size. Despite the sizing, I am still giving it five stars and am ordering another in a medium (despite it not being prime and $10 more) because of how superbly it works for me. I have a genetic disorder, which has caused pretty significant hyperextension and frequent joint subluxations in both of my weak knees. From what I am seeing, those who are not experiencing significant relief from the brace are using it for previous injuries or general support, and not so much because of severe hyperextension issues. Ive had many braces for the past nearly twenty years, including ones for hundreds of dollars, and those did nothing for me. This brace is the way to go!

Very comfortable to wear and provides fantastic knee support and prevention from hyper extension. Expensive, but definitely worth it. Unfortunately will be getting another one for my other knee.

Étant ateint d'une S.E.P. qui m'invalide la jambe gauche. La genouillère m'aide a garder ma jambe droite au moment de la marche. C'est vraiment top.
